Welcome to Northern Naturopathic Healthcare (NNH), the specialists in weight loss management. We are a dedicated naturopathy clinic, with several years of experience in highly effective and safe long-term weight loss. Our particular passion in addressing the current obesity crisis has seen hundreds of patients achieve their ultimate weight loss goals with a proven and naturopath-designed system called Ultra Lite, The Professional Weight and Health Management Program.
Paula Scarmozzino, naturopath, weight loss specialist and principal of NNH, can help you achieve your desired weight loss goals through education of correct foods and portion sizes, motivation with weekly one-on-one consultations and personal commitment to helping you improve health and wellness.
Naturopathy at NNH is a safe and proven way to help treat many common health conditions including digestive and bowel complaints, diabetic and pre-diabetic states, metabolic conditions, infertility and fertility problems, skin problems, sinusitis, fatigue and arthritis, just to name a few.
If you are feeling perfectly well, you may want to have a general check up and health assessment. A naturopathic consultation can be a wonderful way to fine tune and optimise your health. Naturopathic treatment is also great for pre-conception care, natural fertility management and to achieve a healthy and happy pregnancy.

About Us
Paula Scarmozzino N.D.
Paula graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne in 2001 majoring in Immunology, Microbiology and Vision. Whilst completing this she commenced her 4-year Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy degree at the Australian College of Natural Medicine graduating in 2004. She also attained two Diplomas in Health Science, for Herbal Medicine and Nutrition.
With extensive work experience as a Naturopath and Weight Loss Specialist, Paula has worked in various natural medicine clinics over the past 7 years in Bulleen, Malvern, Williamstown and the CBD. She has also worked in health food stores, including GNC, as well as Terry White Chemists where she led the team in natural medicines and Ultra Lite Weight Loss Management. She later featured in the Ultra Lite News Bulletin under "Movers & Shakers" for exceeding sales expectations in Ultra Lite at Terry White Chemists.
As an iridologist, Paula has also performed various corporate work at places such as City West Water, Kraft and Online Insurance.
Paula has been in private practice in Preston, also for the last 7 years, and feels truly blessed to be in a profession that she not only enjoys and finds rewarding but she feels is most humbling. With her integrity, honesty and passion to help people lose weight and to support the body's own healing processes, she has earnt the respect and loyalty from her clients, colleagues and professionals alike.
Paula is a member of the professional body the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA). ANTA is a professional body who only recognise accredited and qualified practitioners in their designated modality.
As Paula is a member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA) rebates are generally available but this depends on the insurance company and type of individual coverage.

Services
At Northern Naturopathic Healthcare we offer the following services:
Naturopathy
An initial naturopathic consultation lasts for approximately 1 hour and includes:- Comprehensive questioning of medical history, body systems review, eating and lifestyle habits.
- Tests to establish zinc level, Indican Urine Test to check for gastric disturbances or any other test pertinent to the case.
- Blood pressure test.
- Treatment protocol including nutritional and dietary plan.
Repeat visits are dependant on individual cases but generally occur after 1 week, then 2 weeks then 4 weeks and so on.
A naturopathic consultation costs:
Initial Visit : 60 mins- $95
Repeat Visit : 30mins- $65
Ultralite Weight Loss, Detoxification & Maintenance
The approach to weight loss commences with a 50min- 1hr consultation whereby a weigh and measure takes place. A mutual goal weight is decided upon based on various parameters including your BMI (Body Mass Index) , then a time-frame to achieve your goal is set. Paula, your senior-trained Ultralite Specialist will then decide upon the most appropriate program for you and provide a thorough explanation on how the program works.
Weekly one-on-one consultations will be scheduled with Paula to track your progress and offer unlimited support and care throughout your weight loss journey.
Ear Candling
Ear candling is an ancient clearing method that has been used by the Egyptians, Chinese, Greeks, and Hopi Indians of America. A special hollow candle is used to create a vacuum in the ear. This vacuum draws out old wax, the residues of past infections, and funguses. Ear candling can help to stimulate the immune system and also the peripheral blood circulation. It can also be used to cleanse and harmonise an energy field or aura. It is a non invasive and painless treatment. A typical session consists of one candle per ear with a time frame of one hour including resting time.

An ear candling session will cost:
1 hr (30 mins each ear)- $60
Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage is a form of relaxation massage and is aimed at relaxing the muscles, increasing circulation, reducing stress, and giving an overall sense of well being to the recipient. Swedish massage also increases oxygen flow in the blood and releases toxins from the muscles.
Massages can range from:- 60 mins- $95
- 45 mins- $80
- 30 mins- $50
Iridology
Iridology is the study of the iris, or the coloured part of the eye. By looking at the iris, changing conditions can be seen in every part and every organ of the body. While iridology cannot detect a specific disease, it is able to tell if there is not enough or too much energy in a specific area of the body. It is a diagnostic tool rather than a treatment tool. The aim is to diagnose a potential illness as soon as possible, before it has a chance to develop into something more serious.
Iridology is usually performed at the end of an initial naturopathic consultation.

Gift Certificates
Please enquire about gift certificates at Northern Naturopathic Healthcare for Naturopathy, Ear Candling, Swedish Massage and Iridology.

Cancellation Policy
Please note that we have a cancellation policy whereby at least 24hrs notice is required for cancellation of appointments. Fees for missed appointments will be charged.
Appointments are in demand, especially during our peak times of the day, so if you are unable to make your scheduled time please spare a thought for others wanting this appointment and call the clinic to let us know. Thank you.
