About The Bowen Technique Why it’s Unique....
Bowen Therapy has achieved a status in alternative healing that sees it accepted along with other natural therapies that display a much longer and established history. An extensively taught technique that is readily sort out by the health consumer, indicates something special about Bowen Therapy. How Does Bowen Therapy Work?
There are few explanations for how Bowen works but the most popular theory explains how the technique uses a series of selectively placed cross-fibre (transverse) muscle-fibre moves to stimulate the soft tissue (fascia) found between the muscles and skin. The effect creates a
window of opportunity for the fascia to become re‑hydrated which in turn assists the structures housed within this tissue. These structures include nerves, muscles, lymph, vascular structures and organs. Improved function in these structures leads to improved general health.
Exciting New Approach....
Where other physical therapy modalities address the musculo-skeletal structures of the body, Bowen Therapy works on the connective tissue (fascia). This means that old and difficult problems which have not responded to other modalities like massage therapy, physiotherapy and chiropractic, may well respond to Bowen Therapy.
Result Efficient....
Most treatments need only last at most 30 minutes. There may be some waiting periods through the treatment, which means more than one client can be worked on at one time. With the exception of chronic conditions, most other cases generally require no more than three
sessions. Being a fascial treatment the depth of application should be quite light, which reduces the risk of developing conditions like RSI, and Carpal Tunnel that are common among massage therapists.
