What Is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a "whole body" system of manual therapy, based on unique biomechanical principles Its holistic approach means the entire body is examined, not just the area of complaint. It uses a wide range of techniques to treat musculo-skeletal problems and other functional disorders of the body. It was developed in America in the 1870’s Dr Andrew Taylor Still, and is now widely recognised throughout the world as one of the most scientifically validated and effective "complementary" therapies (World Health Organisation)

In Australia, Osteopaths are statutorily registered primary health care practitioners having studied five years, full-time at university level. Subjects include anatomy, physiology, radiology, pathology and general medical diagnosis in addition to Osteopathic technique and principle classes.
Osteopaths may also advise on sleeping habits, diet, exercise and lifestyle choices and often give strengthening/stretching programs to those patients who need it.
Who Can See An Osteopath?
Osteopathy is safe and effective for the entire family from newborns to the elderly.
You do not need a referral from anyone to see an Osteopath. However you may be eligible to have some of your treatments paid for by Medicare if you are referred through the EPC program by your GP.
Most private health insurance companies cover part or all of your treatment which you can claim on the spot using HICAPS.

Sarah has a particular interest in Women's and Children's health but treats all sorts or people for any problem they may have. Her Masters research involved how Osteopathy can help with labour and all her post graduate study has been in pregnancy and paediatric related fields. She has a strong background in using Biodynamic Osteopathy in the Cranial Field as well as other techniwues. Sarah graduated in 2007 and returned to Adelaide to enjoy the lifestyle it offers.b>

Vianney completed his studies in 2008 and has worked in France, USA and NZ before coming to Australia in 2011.
