What to Expect - The first consultation

Your first visit starts with an extensive interview and history with a physical exam. The diagnostic methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine include mainly the four techniques of diagnosis, namely, inspection, listening,inquiring, and pulse-taking.

Then you may be given acupuncture treatment, or a combination treatment with acupuncture, acupressure, cupping therapy, or other therapies.

Sometimes our practitioner will prescribe Chinese herbal medicine for you based on the diagnosis. The herbs can be Raw Herbs, Extracted Herbal Granules, Patent Herbal Pills/capsules, or herbal cream/ointment for external use.

Physical exercises will be given for pain or injury management.

Qigong or breathing exercises will be given or suggested for certain conditions

You will also have dietary and lifestyle advice if necessary.

Dr. Richard Zeng is a China Registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Victoria registered acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner. He is a member of Australia Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS). He is also a popular lecturer of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine at the Chinese Medicine Division of RMIT and Victoria University.

Dr. Zeng represent the third generation of TCM doctors in his family. With over 18 years experience, his integrative approach is well-rounded and represents the most complete method of helping his clients dealing with a wide variety of problems.

Dr. Christine Veljanoski (Dr. of TCM acupuncture)

Specialised in: Cosmetic acupuncture, acupuncture facelift

Christine has years of experience with patient care and is sensitive to patients problems and needs. She places a strong emphasis on promoting wellness and caring for the mind, body and spirit. Christine believes that internal health is paramount to external appearance and that looking great starts with feeling great!

Dr. Lauren Joy Lanzoni BHsc, CM, Doctor of Chinese Medicine

Specially interested in: Wemen's disease, Fertility, IVF support, pregnancy support, Skin conditions, emotional disorder, insomnia, migraine, headaches, Children's diseases.

Lauren is a registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist. Lauren holds a bachelor degree in both Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She is a young, warm, passionate, and committed therapist. Lauren holds a special interest in women’s health and has been practicing in this field for the past three years.

Lauren practises traditional Chinese medicine using modern and empirical knowledge to deliver gentle pain free Acupuncture techniques. She has a passion for using well researched and proven Acupuncture for health.

Dr.Tracey Byrne holds a double degree from RMIT in BAppSc (Chinese Medicine) and BAppSc (Human Biology). She completed her clinical internship at the Jiangsu Provincial TCM Hospital in Nanjing, China.

Tracey has been a practising Remedial Massage Therapist for 12 years and utilises various techniques including Massage, Reflexology and Manual Lymphatic Therapy. She also teaches in the Massage Department at NMIT.
