About time you saw your local remedial massage therapist?
Do you suffer from sore tight muscles, muscles cramps or spasms, decreased range of movement, joint stiffness, reoccurring injuries, stress related tension...
We Can Help! ....Massage, although often viewed as a luxury, can be an extremely beneficial part of your health care. Remedial massage differs from the typical relaxation treatment you may have had at a spa or on holiday, as its focus on correcting your postural alignment and muscle function and balancing your body. Using a combination of deep tissue, trigger point, muscle energy techniques, stretching, myofascial release and more, we will help free you from tension and pain. Not to mention the emotional and stress relieving benefits experienced through regular therapeutic massage.
If you have never had massage before, that’s ok! Remedial massage is becoming more and more popular as preventative health gains importance for everyday people. Sporting teams and athletes have been receiving massage for decades as a part of their injury prevention and rehabilitation, as well as for sporting performance. But you don’t have to an athlete to experience the benefits of massage.
Remedial massage can be your sole form of treatment or used in combination with chiropractic, osteopathy or physiotherapy to improve your results, make manipulations easier and help adjustments last longer.
If you're unsure if remedial massage is right for you, please call us from more information or visit our website.
FAQ's
Will it be painful?
There is often some discomfort associated when working through tender spots, however we always work to your pain thresh hold for best results. It’s actually counterproductive if the pressure is too much for you.
How often do I need a treatment?
It all depends on your condition, how you react to treatment and other therapies you're having. As a general guideline for treating a issue; once per week for a minimum of 4 weeks and for maintenance once every 4 to 6 weeks.
Are there times when I should not get a massage?
Yes. If you're very unwell it is best not to get any type of massage as it can actually make you feel worse or spread any possible infection. Also if you have been advised by your GP or other health care professional not to.
I feel sore and a bit unwell after my treatment is that normal ?
It is normal to experience some mild soreness for a day or 2 post treatment. This is a result of working deeply- breaking up adhesions and scar tissue. This type of work also results in by-products being released from your muscles and may give you some light nausea. So it’s important to keep hydrated before and after treatment.

Techniques used:
Lymphatic Drainage MLD
Your Lymphatic System cleanses the fluid that surrounds the cells in your body by removing impurities and waste products. This process not only protects your body from toxins, but also allows cells in the body to function at their best.
Good for people with water retention, heavy and tired limbs, those with swelling or bruising from injuries or recent surgery or people detoxing and wanting to give their body a boost.
Swedish massage SW
Also called relaxation massage, using light to medium pressure, rhythmic repetitive strokes help calm your 'fight or flight' (sympathetic) nervous system response and activate your 'rest and digest' (parasympathetic) nervous system, thereby reducing stress levels, aiding sleep & digestion, lowering blood pressure and promoting general well being. Great for the stressed out individual or those would don’t respond well to deep pressure.
Myofascial Release MFR
Often used in a remedial session, MFR involves applying gentle or firm sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that do not show up in many of the standard tests. This technique has tremendous benefits from chronic and acute conditions.
Deep Tissue DT
Used largely in a remedial session to remove adhesions, scar tissue, aligns soft tissue fibres, deactivate trigger points and elongate short muscles. For very tight people a few treatments may be required before being able to penetrate thought to deeper layers of muscle.
