Welcome to Pilates Physique>

Discover what Hollywood actresses and professional dancers have known for years. Developed in the early 20th Century by accomplished physical trainer Joseph H. Pilates, the Pilates method - referred to by many lifestyle and fitness magazines as the hottest workout regime of the decade - improves abdominal strength, flexibility, joint mobility and encourages a more graceful posture.

Pilates is designed to strengthen and tone core muscles, abdominals and buttocks and the lower back without building bulk, resulting in long lean muscles.

A Pilates program will help alleviate back pain by strengthening the deep, stabilising abdominal muscles and is highly beneficial pre and post pregnancy.

A low impact workout, Pilates is suitable for any age or fitness level, and is recommended by doctors, physiotherapists and osteopaths.

Whether you want to transform your appearance, relieve back pain, get back into shape after pregnancy, or just feel re-energised, Pilates is the workout for you.

Pilates Physique is located in Edgecliff, directly opposite Edgecliff station. This elegant spacious Pilates studio is fast becoming renowned for it’s intimate and highly personal approach, with great attention to detail.

Classes are held in a modern, designer style space and are conducted by caring, fully certified professionals who motivate and encourage you towards achieving your goals.

Our experienced childcare staff care for your child in our fully supervised creche facility whilst you concentrate on transforming the way your body looks, feels and performs.

Group classes

Pilates group classes are suitable for those who do not have any major injuries.

Your instructor will take you through a series of exercises with the focus on your “core muscles” - the abdominals, buttocks and back, combining awareness of the spine, Pilates breathing techniques, strength and flexibility. All group classes last one hour. Pilates Physique offers matwork classes, Power Plate Circuit classes and allegro reformer and tower cadillac classes conducted on traditional pilates equipment.

All group classes are pre-booked and have a maximum of 10 participants per class ensuring a high degree of supervision and interaction between instructor and participant.

Group classes can be purchased as a 5 visit group class pass, a 10 visit group class pass and a 20 group class pass. Each pass has an expiry date of 12 weeks from the date of purchase. Group class passes can be used to attend any of the group classes on the timetable.

For those participants who would like to try a group class without committing to purchasing a group class pass, casual classes are available.

Comfortable exercise clothing is suggested, including socks and a bath sized towel. Shoes are not needed for the workout. All equipment, including mats is provided.

PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE CLASSES

A full body workout using spring-loaded resistance, strong abdominal, leg and arm workout. Personal Pilates program designed for you to suit your specific goals or requirements. Suitable for people with injuries or specific needs such as pregnancy.

If you are new to Pilates we recommend that your first session be a private session. Your instructor will introduce you to the principles of the Pilates technique designed to tone, re-align and reshape the body.

You will form an awareness of your own body’s strengths and weaknesses and we will help guide you to determine if more private classes are required or if you are ready to progress to semi-private or group sessions.
