SERVICES

Welcome to Queanbeyan Massage Centre

Queanbeyan Massage came from small and simple beginnings to the premises at 133 Uriarra Road in Queanbeyan in NSW.

And at present we are looking for quality therapists to allow the clinic to continue to be open six days a weeks.

I have been told that I am the only NSW Work cover approved Soft Tissue Therapist in the Queanbeyan area.

Services

Remedial Therapy

This is the best and often a painful massage technique and is used to normalise damaged tissue. Motor Vehicle Accidents, work related or sporting mishaps are treated with great success. Often referred to as Sports Massage but there is a significant difference between the two.

Sports Massage

There are two types of Sports massage the PRE event and the POST event massage. Each have specific functions and goals.

Pre-event will stimulate and invigorate the body in preparing it for the activity of sport, increase the blood flow and help in the warm-up procedure.

Post-event massage is very similar to lymphatic drainage but is much more sports specific in its effectiveness. Identifying and reacting to effective muscle groups.

Relaxation Massage

Commonly called or known as Swedish massage.

The main objective the therapist has is to place the client into a state of complete rest. The perfect reaction is for the receiver to slip into a sleep or to show signs of heavy relaxation. The therapist will use slow gentle and rhythmic actions with soft smooth music and a mixture of aromatic scents to assist in achieving the most relaxed and rejuvenating massage possible.

Therapeutic Massage

This can be described as an exploration of the tissue to investigate and identify abnormal tissue function using some relaxation techniques and a smooth mix of remedial and manipulative therapies to help normalise the muscles and other soft tissue. To help the body maintain Homeostasis which is Utopia for the body. Probably our most popular modality

Reiki

The relaxed process of using positive energy in a completely non-intrusive way to stimulate the thought process to allow the client to find them selves. Not for the closed minded or negative thinker. This type of modality is not for everyone but can result in some unusual experiences.

Lymphatic Drainage

Will help to rid the body of excessive fluids. Most commonly known as an effective process after a mastectomy to reduce lymph build up in the lymph nodes area under the arms. Also helps with fluid retention in the legs.

Muscle Energy Therapy

The therapist uses the client to stimulate muscle movement while applying pressure of varying degrees, to realign the fibres of the muscles and tendons. This is a very active and interactive massage, plenty of movement.

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)

Arguably the very best way to stretch. This is not a massage but a very active and effective stretching technique the can give your body a total and physical stretching session. Be warned you will be asked to be very active in participating.

Myofascial Release

Each and every muscle has a stocking type substance around it this is called myofascia and can from time to time dehydrate or tear resulting in either adhesions or abnormalities and can be treated by a gentle stretch or tension applied.
