I am based in The Gap and teach at various locations around The Gap.

My classes are aimed at providing the community with access to the pure and lovely practice of yoga that has been practiced for thousands of years in India and around the world. My style is a combination of Iyengar yoga and Astanga yoga blended together to create a pure style of yoga for everyone no matter what level of fitness you have.

The classes focus on the enjoyment of classical yoga and breath awareness to provide physical, emotional and spiritual development and enjoyment. The classes are aimed at women, men, children, teenagers and babies and pregnant women

I have been teaching yoga for ten years and have studied Iyengar, Satyananda and Astanga Yoga for 18 Years . I have three children and have used my practice of yoga to guide me through my life journey.

I am a member of the Yoga Teacher Association of Australia and also a Registered Nurse specialising in Paediatrics. I have an interest in midwifery and currently am doing my Masters in Advanced Nursing Practice . Please check this site regularly to find out about new and upcoming classes and workshops.

Classes

Mumma & Bubba Yoga Classes

With your baby lying safely on your body or nestled closely beside you, Mumma & Bubba Yoga will enable you to gently regain physical strength, tone your muscles and develop a deep emotional bond with your baby as well as enamour you with resilience to face the everyday stressors in life with calmness, serenity and an inner guiding wisdom. Meet likeminded woman, exchange knowledge and gain friendship and support. For babies from the age of 6 weeks. Beautiful touch sensations for you and your baby to help encourage positive growth and development between you both. No pressure to join in class activity, individuality is encouraged. Feed your baby, change your baby’s nappy or what ever feels right to you. All bubba’s cry and your baby is no exception, if bubba is unsettled and you feel uncomfortable, do as you would do in your own home.


Pregnancy Yoga Classes

A time for you!

These classes provide an opportunity to develop greater vitality and awareness of your body that is home for two, as well as to deepen your relationship with your baby.

Gentle postures, breath work, visualisation, vocal toning and meditation are learnt to help you to cultivate flexibility, calmness and confidence in preparation for your labour and birth of your child. These practices will help you to enhance relaxation, comfort and enjoyment. Calmness and flexibility ease the birthing process, thus helping to reduce fear, pain and increasing the joy of giving birth with your natural woman's wisdom. Help yourself to prepare for an actively involved birth. Take the time to give your self and your baby the beautiful simplicity of being in a space of serenity and peacefulness.


General Yoga Classes

Beautiful traditional yoga poses help and enable you to maintain a balanced lifestyle in a sometimes hectic world. Through the regular practice of Yoga Asana and breath work ( pranayama) techniques are learned and used in everyday life to allow the flow of energy and thoughts through you body and mind without allowing distractions to take over the mind. You will also build strength, tone your mind and muscles, increase your flexibility and develop mechanisms for coping with life's ebb and flow without feeling like life is out of control, so take action today and take control of your mind, body and your life.


Beginners

The beginners class is suitable for people who have not had very much physical action for a few years, and who need to build strength, tone and flexibility, or who are recovering from major injury or illness, the class is also suitable for people that need to approach physical movement carefully because of a limited range of movement.


Experienced

This class is for people who have been attending a regular yoga class for at least 2 years and or have a full range of movement with no injuries, no illness and maintain a good level of fitness. This class has a variety of more advanced asanas and an a strong salutation to the sun practice at the start of class.


Kids Yoga Class

Roar like a lion, stretch like a dog, lounge like a lizard!

The wonderful world of yoga for children is a natural and joyous experience that will allow any child to develop their natural ability to interpret their world with wonder, awe and curiosity. Regular practice of Yoga Asana, breath work (pranayama) and meditation helps children to develop coping skills for their ever changing world. Encourage your child’s love of life and development with this animated yoga class. Children learn simple yoga asanas and role play animals to learn new ways to move their body that aid development in coordination, sense of self and body awareness. Fun for all. All classes include, Sun salutations, Asana, meditation, games and Yoga Nidra (relaxation)


Classes

All classes are held at The Taylor Range Country Club in Ashgrove.

The Taylor Range Country Club is a non-profit family-orientated recreational club which was established to service the needs of the local community in 1970. The area is very leafy and private has adequate parking and facilities.

General Yoga Thursday Mornings 9.30am to 11.00am $ 16

General Yoga Thursday Evenings 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm $16

Kids Yoga Thursday afternoons 3.30 pm to 4.30pm $10

Teen Yoga Thursday afternoons 4.30 pm to 5.30pm $12

Private Yoga Classes are available, please ring for details and available times. $60 an hour



Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Nursing Science
  • Level 1 YTAA Yoga Teacher
  • Current Positive Blue Card
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Masters of Nursing (Advanced Practice) (current)
  • Cert of Pre-Natal Yoga
  • Cert of Active Birth Yoga
