Being both a Chinese medicine practitioner and Naturopath allows Joseph to look at each patient from two totally separate angles. It’s like consulting two separate practitioners at the same time.

Now for those of you who’ve heard about the thousands of years of safe and effective therapy provided by Acupuncture but who just can’t get past the needles, don’t feel squeamish, as Joseph has been practising needle free (laser) Acupuncture since 1997. Cosmetic Acupuncture.

Cosmetic acupuncture is also known as "the acupuncture face lift" and "facial rejuvenation acupuncture". Cosmetic acupuncture has a long history in Chinese medicine. It aims to improve the overall health of the patient as well as aiming to to improve the signs of aging on the face, especially wrinkles, bags under the eyes, sagging jowels and also aiming to improve the general health and appearance of the skin itself . My appraoch is with laser rather needles so there's no risk of bruising , no pain, and of course it's totally natural- no botox and no surgery.

Joseph explains his passion for natural medicine:

"Chinese Medicine allows me to assess that subtle yet vital flow of life energy in all living things, including people known as qi, pronounced “chi”. Acupuncture allows me to then effectivley and safely treat the cause of a condition from a Chinese medicine perspective by balancing or removing the blockages to the normal flow of qi.

Naturopathy on the other hand, allows me to view the patient’s biochemistry and metabolism in a more Western format. And again aims to remove or treat the cause of an illness. This is achieved through vitamin and mineral therapy, positive lifestyle changes, western herbal medicine, homeopathy and dietry advice.

Both of these systems of natural medicine are interested in the whole person and the focus is with the patient, not just the symptoms or the illness itself.

In the initial consultation, my aim is to discover the cause of the patient’s illness. This entails me beginning with a physical exam, including iridology, tongue diagnosis, taking a thorough history, taking into careful consideration their family and medical history, diet and lifestyle. If required I may need to organise some further testing to give me a clearer picture of the patient’s biochemistry, deficiencies or hormonal imbalances.

One of the best parts of my practice is being a detective, finding those missing bits of information and then putting them all together to try and complete the picture to return the patient to health.”
