In early 2009, Sam travelled to Nanning in southern China to complete an internship in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Later, he was invited to Beijing to study with prominent TCM professors, undertaking advanced clinical practice in specialised acupuncture (including eye acupuncture) and abdominal Bagua protocols.
Sam combines his expertise in natural therapies and TCM to develop the most appropriate and effective treatment plan for each patient. Whilst he treats a wide range of conditions, he also has a special interest in treating neurological disorders, paralysis, stroke and psychological disorders from a TCM perspective.
Sam takes a practical, down-to-earth approach to treatment; anchoring his knowledge of natural therapies and TCM firmly in the realities of today’s fast-paced, high-stress lifestyle. “As a practitioner, I can help balance patients’ energies so they feel better after a treatment,” he says, “but I also encourage them to take responsibility for their wellbeing outside the treatment room by adopting sensible lifestyle practices like good nutrition, adequate sleep and stress management.
