About Reiki:
The Usui Method of Natural Healing
Reiki is a gentle but extremely powerful healing modality which was developed in Japan in the 19th century by Dr. Mikao Usui. (Pictured above right). A method of spiritual healing and energy healing, Reiki is a very pure healing energy that can only be transferred by practitioners and teachers who have received the Reiki attunements. When the attunements have been correctly performed by a Reiki teacher - often called 'Reiki Masters' or 'Sensei' - the student is empowered with the healing energy for life.
Usui meditated and fasted many times on Mt. Kurama, near Kyoto. (pictured right).
Mt. Kurama, or Kuramayama as it is called in Japan, has been a sacred site of Shinto and Buddhist shrines since the 11th century. It was here that Usui received the inspirations for his system of Natural Healing. Covered with cedar forest, and home to many shrines, it is now also a conservation area.
Reiki is so effective, safe and easy to learn that it has spread throughout the world.
If you have a serious illness
If you are undergoing treatment for cancer or other serious illness you may experience a better quality of life with regular Reiki treatments. This can include more restful sleep, release of stress, and pain management.
