SERVICES

I am dedicated to collaboratively working with you to help find the resources within, that may help resolve conflicts and create satisfying and healthy relationships with yourself and others. Due to your circumstance it may be difficult to access those resources alone and you may need the help of a caring and committed therapist.

Working with compassion and promoting awareness, together we explore your inner processes, observe your thoughts, feelings and body sensations. We begin to see the ways you get stuck in fixed patterns about yourself that get in the way of you leading a satisfying and healthy life. I help you to investigate and uncover how these patterns are still active and affecting your life and assist you to find new and more creative ways to resolve the problem or crisis you are facing and lead a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

    Relationship counselling:

You bring your own unique ideas, values, opinions and personal history into your relationships and they may not always match your partner's. Differences can cause distress creating undue, tension, sadness, worry, fear and other problems. How do you come to appreciate the differences in others, be yourself and also be with others at the same time? I work with couples helping you deal with difference to create happier more satisfying relationships.

As a wife and mother of 3 children Felicity appreciates the challenges of developing and maintaining satisfying and fulfilling relationships with ourselves and those we care about.

    More about Felicity

    Therapeutic Approach

My therapeutic approach focuses on developing awareness, enhancing well-being and increasing self support. I spent six years in the East studying Buddhist psychology and meditation and my work is informed by my appreciation of the value of meditation and mindfulness practice. I am a psychologist and gestalt therapist trained in relationship counselling. I run a private practice on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

    The Benefits of Mindfulness

Practising mindfulness can assist you to:

  • be fully present, moment by moment
  • experience calmness and peacefulness
  • develop self-acceptance and self-compassion
  • increase self-awareness
  • learn the difference between you and your thoughts
  • learn to live life directly and contactfully rather than through your thoughts
  • become less upset by and reactive to unpleasant experiences
  • experience unpleasant thoughts and feelings safely
  • become more connected to yourself, others, and the world around you
  • learn that everything changes; that thoughts and feelings come and go like weather

    What is Gestalt Therapy?

Gestalt therapy is a growth-oriented, contextual and relational approach to living and working with people. The Gestalt approach embraces a person's whole life experience - physical, psychological, intellectual, emotional, interpersonal and spiritual. Each of these interconnected aspects of living is considered inseparable from a person's environment, history and culture.

From a gestalt perspective a well-lived life is grounded in a person's awareness of how they live their life and conduct their relationships, in the present, within their life space. From this perspective, the Gestalt approach seeks to promote awareness, support creative choice, encourage responsibility and facilitate connectedness in a person's efforts to realise a meaningful and fulfilling life.
