About Us
Anna Smallwood was first introduced to yoga in 1998 as part of her intensive training as Professional Contemporary Dancer. She completed a Bachelor of Dance at the Victorian College of The Arts and always maintained her yoga practice whilst working as a dancer. She immediately fell in love with Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow practices as it allowed to find freedom through movement, yet unlike dance it was driven by the breath.

Anna completed yoga teacher training at Brahmani Yoga, Goa, India with Julie Martin and has returned to India four times since then, to both teach at Brahmani yoga, and to deepen her own yoga practice. Anna has taught internationally on Brahmani Yoga, and Shakti Spirit, Yoga alliance teacher training programs in Bali and Goa.

Anna has trained with a number of senior teachers in Europe, Australia and in India.

She enjoys sharing her understanding and love for yoga with others and witnessing the transformation it brings to her students.

Anna is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance. (RYT 500).

Liam

Liam O’Connor completed his 500hr Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training, at Brahmani Yoga in Goa, India. He has traveled to India twice, where he has studied with many senior teachers. It was his love of surfing and the water that bought Liam to the beautiful south coast. He looks forward to also sharing his love of Yoga with you.

Classes
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a set series of postures that are woven together by the breath. Attention is on both the postures, and the journey between the postures, creating a dynamic and flowing sequence.

The purpose is to produce an intense internal heat in the body, which leads to the body’s purification through increased circulation and sweating. The Asanas (postures) help to realign the body, increasing strength, flexibility, and stamina. The breath awareness, helps to focus and calm the mind, enabling you to be more aware of the present moment.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa flow is another dynamic style of yoga that works to weave the asanas ( postures) together with the breath. It explores the many ways you can link and flow the asansa, finding freedom in the body, while tapping into our creativity. it is a challenging yet playful approach to Yoga.
