Homeopathy
A system of therapies developed in Germany by Samuel Hahnemann utilsing Hypocrites theory of healing by similars - like cures like. Homeopathy uses the minimum dose and single remedies which make it an effective, gentle and versatile form of therapy suited to the elderly, pregnant women and children. Homeopathy is safe to use with prescription medications.
Naturopathy
A branch of natural medicine including such modalities as nutrition, iridology, massage, reflexology , acupuncture, Bowen therapies, homeopathy, herbal medicine and flower essences. Naturopathy involves the treatment of disease without drugs. This may involve adjustments to diet, exercise or massage and nutritional supplementation.
Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicines are the ancient roots of modern pharmaceuticals. Herbal medicines are beneficial nutritionally as well as medicinally. They are available in many user friendly forms; liquids, capsules, tabsules, tinctures and teas. Herbal remedies often have less side effects than conventional prescriptions. Formulas can be made to cater for individual needs.
About Catherine
Catherine has been involved with Traditional Healing Arts for 15 years. She is dedicated to her work and clients. She previously worked in Environmental Science and an ESL teacher and teachers assistant.
She continues to be involved in Landcare and community midwifery.
Catherine has been using Homeopathy and Herbal Medicine for 10 years. She has experiences including; Home Birthing, Education and Teaching, Environmental Repair, Remote Aboriginal Community Environmental Health projects, Permaculture and several areas of Natural Health Therapy including; Massage, Reflexology and Reiki. Catherine has brought up her 3 children with minimal use of antibiotics. She swims and plays hockey and has an interest in Natural Animal Health care.
Catherine studied Natural Therapies over 7 years at the Australian Institute of Holistic Medicine and holds the following qualifications; Advanced Diploma of Homeopathy, Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy, Advanced Diploma of Herbal Medicine. Catherine also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science from Murdoch University and Environmental Education and Foreign Language Teaching Qualifications.
Catherine aims to treat as a whole person... "I assess the individual and apply appropriate modalities of natural medicine. I encourage my clients to pursue a path of optimal health with the the lifestyle choices they make. Each person has the potential to make changes to their life practices. I aim to support my clients in achieving healthier lifestyles."
