SERVICES
WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?
Osteopathy is a unique service that is globally established and well respected as a form of safe and non-invasive manual medicine. It has been around since the late 19th century.
Osteopathy views health and the body as a single cohesive unit. It is a hands on approach that is about helping people get back to health naturally.
Osteopathy concentrates on working exclusively with the health of the individual to improve overall function as a whole.
PRINCIPLES
The fundamental belief of Osteopathy is that the body functions as a whole. Furthermore, Osteopathy has the core belief that the body is capable of healing itself, as its natural movement is always towards normal.
Osteopathic philosophy bases its treatment and diagnosis on the relationship between function and structure, and seeks to free up motion in the body to allow changes towards normal and consequently health.
"The Osteopath should find health. To find health should be the object of the doctor. Anyone can find disease... A cause must precede an effect in all cases. A pain in head is an effect; cause is older than the effect and is absolute in all variations from normal conditions." A. T. Still, founder of Osteopathy
BIODYNAMIC OSTEOPATHY
Biodynamic Osteopathy is a pure approach to Osteopathic principles as they apply to health, with the goal of finding the true cause in order to help people get back to normal function.
Through years of dedicated study and appropriate training, Osteopaths can learn to co-operate and communicate with the body's movement towards normal, its intrinsic health.
This can only be achieved through understanding the body as a whole, as a dynamic organism inextricably linked its external environment.
This is a service that is safely used in the treatment of all levels of illness.
Biodynamic Osteopathy was founded and developed by Dr. James Jealous D.O., a world renowned Osteopath and teacher in Cranial Osteopathy with over 45 years of remarkable clinical and teaching experience. His teaching is based on the Osteopathic principles and teachings of A. T. Still, the founder of Osteopathy, and W. G. Sutherland, the founder of Cranial Osteopathy, and many other Osteopathic teachers.
Their shared knowledge was combined with the teaching of world renowned Embyologist Erich Blecschmidt to form a Biodynamic model of Osteopathy in the Cranial Field. This teaching is based on the forces at work on every living substance, preceding and incarnating the unfoldment of form and function in an ever changing environment.
""Mind, Motion, and Matter incarnating as One. The mystery that animates all Life unfolds into the diversity of all living things....... Form and Function co-emerge in our growth." Dr. James Jealous, founder of Biodynamic Osteopathy program.
