SERVICES
“Be the change you want to see in the world” Mahatma Gandhi
In traditional chinese medicine (TCM), the warmer, lighter, dryer yang months of summer are seen as the time of year completely opposite in energy to the cold, dark, wet, yin of winter.
Having recently passed the Autumnal Equinox, a time of balanced yin / yang energies, we now slowly make our way towards the long, dark, cold nights of winter and the maximum yin day of the year, the Winter Solstice.
Just as the earth maintains an ever-changing mix of yin & yang as we move through the seasons, so too our bodies strive to maintain a constant state of yin / yang balance (homeostasis) in response to these changing seasons and energies of our immediate environment.
Working with the energetic states of tamas (inertia) and rajas (movement), connecting with your own individual, unique constitution and working intelligently within the changing, transitional energies of the natural environment present at this time - reestablishing balance into the body by introducing some gentle movement if we are feeling tamas, lazy, sluggish or inert, or else s-l-o-w-i-n-g d-o-w-n our movement and introducing more mindfulness into our thoughts, words and actions if we are running round at 100 miles an hour and feeling rajas, anxious, restless or exhausted from stress and activity.
For more information on this topic, please contact me to book in for a shiatsu or reflexology treatment or australian bush flower essence consultation and / or the group/s for my Term 2 Cultivating Our Inner Light YOGA Course/s - three, two or just one class per week - and begin working with your own body, learning how to keep yourself healthy as we move through this transitional time of the year, a time for softness, acceptance & letting go.

welcome to saṁyoga / zensational massage
Originally from Sydney, I am an Australian qualified Yoga teacher, Shiatsu therapist and UK certified Reflexology practitioner. In addition to formal study I have spent many months in Thailand and India studying alternative techniques with various teachers first hand.
I have been traveling and working around the world since 1999 and have received overwhelmingly positive responses and results from my treatments across a broad range of body types and personalities.
Living & practicing in Melbourne since 2006, I obtained the bulk of my initial experience whilst previously living in Berlin and working on UK, US and Swiss Yoga students on retreat in Spain, Turkey & Italy.
Aside from running my own busy practice in St Kilda I also run yoga classes out of studios in St Kilda & Prahran and offer my treatments to the wider community through Hanover Southbank Crisis Accommodation (www.hanover.org.au) in South Melbourne.

treatment list
reflexology | | 60 minutes | $80 |
Reflexology is an extremely relaxing, revitalizing and therapeutic treatment which uses the feet as a mirror for the structure & function of the entire body. Thumb pressure is applied to reflex points in order to assess and treat specific areas of imbalance, tender points indicating which corresponding part/s of the body are potentially congested.
By accessing and encouraging the body’s own innate healing mechanisms reflexology rebalances the body by calming over-active and stimulating under-active areas through the feet, a sensitive end point for some of the body’s major nervous & meridian (energy) networks.
Reflexology treatments use only a small amount of (talc-free) tea tree oil + cornstarch powder directly on the skin of the feet, ankles & calves which improves the sensation & application of the therapist’s thumb pressure.
| reflexology deluxe | | [reflexology + foot massage] | | 75 minutes | $95 |
Reflexology deluxe builds on a holistic reflexology session by utilizing extended and more varied relaxation techniques in order to access & release deeper layers of muscle, joint, tendon & ligament tension within the physical structure of the feet, ankles & calves.
Each session begins with a eucalyptus + salted foot bath, incorporates hot towel compresses and ends with an essential oil massage of the feet & calves. These extra features serve to further warm, relax and soften the feet (as well as the entire body), improving therapeutic access & treatment outcomes, as well as generally enhancing the overall reflexology experience.
Problems such as tired, aching feet, fallen arches, bunions, bunionettes, hammer or mallet toes (including all joint problems of the feet & ankles), planter fasciitis or recovering sprained ankles can all be addressed via this specialized modality.
By increasing peripheral nerve sensation & awareness as well as improving blood flow & circulation via the manual stimulation and massage of the feet, reflexology and reflexology deluxe treatments help to return a sense of nurture & care to this very important and often neglected area of the body.
Both treatments also incorporate shiatsu based pressure points of the feet, ankles & calves, the combination of which are tailored for each individual client.
| shiatsu therapy & traditional thai massage |
60 minutes | $80
75 minutes | $95
90 minutes | $110 |
Shiatsu and traditional thai massage access energy (meridian) lines of the body through stretching and direct thumb, finger, palm, elbow and sometimes knee pressure, affecting change within the body on both a physical and emotional level.
Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese bodywork often used in the west as an overlay for the diagnostic models of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Aspects of the client’s health are evaluated, related back to and then treated as imbalances and blockages within a five-element system of organ & meridian networks (five elements: earth, metal, water, wood & fire). Treatments can focus in on a range of emotional and physical issues associated with each organ network or element.
Traditional thai massage is a full body energy rebalance, meridian and major muscle group stretch & release that rebalances the rhythms of the body - freeing energy blockages from typical points of stagnation and areas of (often unconscious) contraction - allowing clean energy and blood to flow into and reduce pain in problem areas. Also known as thai yoga massage as gentle yoga-like stretches can be incorporated into the treatment, depending on the flexibility of the receiver.
Treatment content, pace and pressure levels are specifically tailored to each individual client and, unless otherwise requested, incorporate aspects from both shiatsu & traditional thai massage modalities.
| combination therapy | | [reflexology + thai massage / shiatsu therapy] | 75 minutes | $95
90 minutes | $110
105 minutes | $125
120 minutes | $140 |
This unique and powerful experience is my signature treatment and combines aspects of both hand & foot reflexology into a longer session of meridian therapy bodywork of shiatsu & traditional thai massage (minimum 75 minutes).
Problem areas of the whole body are addressed both locally and also through separate or simultaneous treatment of key distal points (found on the feet, legs, arms & hands).
With each modality re-enforcing the effectiveness of the other, combination therapy is the ultimate experience for assessing & treating the complex myriad of physical and emotional imbalances within the body.
Please see above for details of the individual components contained within this very special experience.

australian bush flower essences help inject clarity and awareness into one's life and help provide the courage, strength and commitment to pursue one's goals and dreams. The effect of these essences is similar to that of meditation in that they enable the person to access the wisdom of their Higher Self, releasing negative beliefs held in the subconscious mind.
Flower remedies are an ancient form of healing used extensively by the Australian Aboriginals. There has also been a very long tradition of flower essence use in India, Asia and South America and they were also very popular in ancient Egypt and Europe in the Middle Ages. They were popularly rediscovered in the west by Dr. Edward Bach sixty years ago through the use of English flowering plants.
Australian bush flower essences are unique because Australia has the world's oldest and highest number of flowering plants exhibiting tremendous strength and beauty. Australia is also relatively unpolluted and metaphysically has a very wise, old energy.
Australian bush flower consultations & essence blends are available through saṁyoga. Consultations may be stand alone (priced above) or simply incorporated into a longer shiatsu, reflexology or combination therapy bodywork session at no additional cost.
| treatment extras | [cupping, moxibustion, gua sha]
$15 as add-on |
(Flame) Cupping glass suction cups are applied to areas of the back to treat cases of sharp, acute pain or long term blood stagnation. Draws out cold and increases range of movement. Applied directly onto the skin.
Moxibustion – burning charcoal-like stick that, kept just a few centimeters off the skin, penetrates warmth deep into the fascia & muscles. Great for injury recovery.
Gua Sha – a sliding spoon is repeatedly applied over areas of tightness. Great for chronic, long term conditions – particularly necks. Releases stagnant blood and increases range of movement. Applied directly onto the skin.

| saṁyoga | | [private tuition] | 60 minutes | $80 (smaller room) / $120 (larger room / home visit)
75 minutes | $95 / $135
90 minutes | $110 / $150 |
saṁyoga (pronounced ‘sum’yoga, sanskrit for 'lucky' or 'chance' but also for ‘union’ or 'integration' - the 'sum' of the individual parts made stronger as a whole) respectfully integrates traditional hatha yoga practices with updated techniques from a solid anatomy & physiology foundation, encouraging only mindful, healthy & rebalancing body movements of the spine, core & limbs.
Sessions & classes cater for every level, tailored for both men & women, all body types, sizes, ages and levels of strength & flexibility. All practices are safely introduced and then modified or developed upon for each unique practitioner, unifying a rhythmic flow of movement (asana), breathing (pranayama) & meditation with yogic & traditional chinese medicine (TCM) theory & philosophy.
saṁyoga teaches a holistic view of the body, inviting communication with the student’s own inner teacher and promoting self-enquiry into the various connections between networks of parts, organs, systems & centres that lie within.
Individual ‘self-practice’ is inspired, both on and off the mat, allowing students to extrapolate beneficial practices into daily life, cultivating a ‘fitness’ of body, mind & emotions as well as a steady clarity & integrity of thoughts, words & actions.
Home / hotel visits for private yoga tuition can be arranged. Corporate & small, private group tuition is also available. Price per person depends on numbers. My place or yours. Please contact me for more information. See below for general saṁyoga class times.
My aim is to provide a nurturing and supportive group environment - encouraging a sense of community - within which students are able to take some valuable time-out of day-to-day responsibilities in order to safely establish and / or further develop their own personal yoga practice.
