SERVICES
WHY WOULD YOU SEEK PSYCHOTHERAPY?
Psychotherapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space and relationship in which to explore problems of living, which can arise as difficulties in work, in parenting, in relationships, in achieving one's goals, or in repetitive and painful states such as depression, anxiety, confusion, negative feelings, or low self esteem.

The safety of the therapeutic relationship can allow you to explore and unravel old patterns of feeling, thinking and behaving and to find new meanings and actions in the world. Psychotherapy provides conditions of empathy, acceptance and mindfulness so that you can grow and develop in ways which you may not have thought possible.

WHAT IS SELF-PSYCHOLOGY?
Self-psychology is a psychodynamic approach originating from the work of Heinz Kohut who found that a person's self-cohesion, self-esteem and vitality derive from and are maintained by the empathic responsiveness of others. Self-psychology works to support and enhance your sense of self to help you tolerate daily stresses, as well as enhance your emotional resilience, ability to trust, and to engage with others comfortably.

Training in Self-psychology and ongoing supervision with Australia's most eminent Clinical Self-psychologist means that I am able to successfully treat clinical diagnoses such as PTSD, Personality/Self Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorders, Agrophobia, Major Depression, and Long term Chronic pain.

WHAT IS SOMATIC MOVEMENT THERAPY??
SMT is a therapeutic method that uses movement as well as touch and starts with a focus on your subjective experience of your own dynamic bodily sensations. Its goal is to develop an awareness of the connections of breathing, posture, sensation, movement to body image, emotions, and relationships. It also helps to develop self regulation and a sense of vitality and aliveness.

SESSION INFORMATION
Sessions are 50 to 55 minutes in length and are by appointment only.
Because the "fit" between therapist and client is important, I suggest making an initial appointment for us to meet and learn about each other.
