Therapeutic Approach
I adopt a client centred approach, where you the client and I the therapist form a therapeutic relationship and journey together, learning from each other.
In a safe and nurturing environment, we explore and transform your issues and goals with the intention to heal and discover your true inner self.
Through using a wide array of modalities and interventions, individually tailored to you, the process of change becomes comfortable, effective and at your own organic pace.
Together, we attend to your everyday experiences of life – thoughts, emotions, dreams, body sensations and symptoms, as well as your relationships with others and the world.
We may honour whatever emerges in a therapy session. This can take the form of drawing or painting an image, sculpting a form in clay, writing in a journal, or moving to music.
Value, meaning and healing emerge from within your unique process of inner work rather than from any external ideals. It is not about fixing something that is broken, but attending to the rich language of the soul.
The Session
The therapy session runs for 1.5 hours.
The fee is a sliding scale. Private health insurance rebates may apply.
Appointments are available during the day and some evenings.
The session is as individual as each person. Typically we may explore your concerns, and how this may be impacting you. Generally, the therapy process may consist of:
- Developing life coping strategies and skills
- Overcoming and healing past wounds and traumas
- Reframing and removing limiting blocks and obstacles
- Creating and building wellbeing and a satisfying life.
This is achieved at a pace that is comfortable for you, utilizing any number of individually tailored therapeutic modalities.
Therapeutic Modalities
In addition to traditional “talking therapy”, any of the following modalities, tailored to your needs, may be included to assist your process:
Mindfulness – Attending to your experience in the moment – thoughts, feelings and body sensations, rather than just talking about it. Developing body awareness and symbolic processing.
Thought Matrix Meridian Therapy – is based on current research in mind/body healing and incorporates meridian tapping, muscle testing (kinesiology), and is similar to other approaches that have arisen from this research, such as TFT, EFT, etc which make the premise that all illness is due to a disruption in the body’s energy system. An excellent tool to settle overwhelming emotions.
Thought Matrix Chakra Healing – is based on mind/body healing, specifically the Chakra system. Incorporates muscle testing (kinesiology) and chakra clearing and rebalancing. Systematically clearing undesirable beliefs and patterns from each chakra, followed by rebalancing and installation of a positive state.
Bi-Lateral Stimulation Processing – has risen out of the body of research stimulated by mind/body approaches to healing, including EMDR and energy psychology. Incorporates muscle testing (kinesiology), sound and kinaesthetic processing, as well as eye movements.
Hypnotherapy (NLP) - Relaxation, directly changing undesirable patterns and habits with the unconscious, as well as accessing positive states and creativity.
Art Therapy– Using crayons, paints or clay to give form to your process and gain a deeper understanding of the issues.
Working with Parts - Identify many parts of self, negotiating through conflict to find cooperation and alliance within. Based on modalities like psychodrama, ego state therapy and gestalt therapy.
Therapeutic Ritual – Involves developing your personal mini, or elaborate ritual to facilitate change and transformation.
Dream Work – Linking the unconscious and conscious messages to gain new meanings. Understanding your personal symbolic communication.
Myth, Metaphor & Story – Mythology, Jung archetypes and fairy tales can bring meaning to your context and anchor your journey. QUALIFICATION DETAILS My Education
