Sherrill Wright Dip RM
Remedial Massage Therapist

My name is Sherrill Wright and I am a diploma qualified remedial massage therapist. I am passionate in helping you find solutions and assisting you in seeking pain relief, correct your posture and aid you on your road to recovery. I have trained with Patricia Farnsworth who is one of the most qualified teachers of Myo-Fascial Release and Cranio-Sacral Therapy in Australia and attended advanced courses and a retreat with Hugh Milne, teacher of visionary cranio-sacral work and director of the Milne Institute.
I have Workcover accreditation, and enjoy working as part of your work injury related recovery team.

The modalities I offer are:

Myo-fascial Release Therapy

The connective tissue (fascia) is like a web surrounding every cell and fibre throughout your entire body. It provides support to, and protects all structures in the body. This connective tissue can easily be damaged by injury, surgery in fact any trauma including psychological wounding. The tissue holds these injuries and prevents healing, causing pain and restriction of movement even at cellular level. My work is is to assist your body/mind in releasing the pain and injury.

Myo-fascial release is a gentle, hands on stretching technique that gives these “archaic” wounds permission to heal, encouraging a gentle healing effect on the body, decreasing pain and improving mobility. Patients often report that this therapy and Cranio-Sacral work provide a relief to symptoms that have reached a plateau after years of pain and the failure of other types of treatment to provide relief.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

CSTis a hands-on healing technique, which helps to boost general well-being, reduce stress, improve quality of sleep, increase energy and enhance the functioning of all the body's organs via the nervous system. It is a non-intrusive therapy that works with the entire structure, physiology, mind and spirit. For a treatment, clients usually lay on a massage table and the therapist works through light clothing. It is a very gentle and profoundly relaxing procedure that lasts between 40 to 60 minutes.

I have also studied a deeper form of CST, called Visionary Cranio-Sacral Therapy. This level of craniosacral work helps the client access their own clarity and insight, and hence it is used not only to relieve pain, but also to help empower the client to deal successfully with many different life situations.

CST can treat a wide range of conditions and can be used to treat all age groups including babies and young children. Many other conditions that benefit from CST & Myo-Fascial release therapy are

  • Chronic Pain
  • Headaches
  • Migraine
  • Jaw pain and TMJ dysfunction
  • Back pain and strain
  • Neck, Knee, Hip and shoulder pain
  • Sciatica
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Stress relief
  • Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia
  • Myofascial Pain Syndrome
  • Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
  • Scoliosis
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Depression

  • Relaxation Massage

An oil based relaxing massage that aids blood and lymph flow to all areas of the body creating a feeling of well being, relieving muscle soreness, aiding sleep, relieving pain. Treat yourself to this relaxing massage and float away.

    The benefits of massage therapy>
  • Release of toxins in the body
  • Promotes the flow of lymphatic fluid and blood to all cells and muscles of the body which improves circulation
  • Provides Stress Relief
  • Improves sleep
  • Gives you a feeling of relaxation and well being
  • Aids digestion

  • Positional Release Therapy, the aaahhh treatment

Many clients comment that this simple modality is the one that releases those painful trigger points (very small spots in the muscle that are so painful to touch). These trigger points prevent the muscle and surrounding tissue from functioning well and creating deep and niggling pain. This treatment is a wonderful release. A treatment session would focus on these points, and be completed with massage or other modalities.
