Simone Eyssens & Associates - Counselling

How does counselling & psychotherapy work?

Counselling & psychotherapy provide a safe, supportive environment to allow you to explore what is concerning you, learn about & accept yourself, feel happier and more content, and learn skills to help you cope better with life’s ups and downs. Together we go on a journey to learn more about you - what makes you tick, what your hopes & dreams are, what challenges you are facing and ways to deal with them.

Our psychologists draw on a range of effective approaches in working with clients, including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Psychodynamic approaches, hypnotherapy, skills training and psychoeducation. We provide counselling services for adults, adolescents or children on a broad range of issues. Our aim is to use the most effective approaches to help get you back on track to living a great life.

We offer daytime, after hours and weekend appointments.

Our services may be eligible for a Medicare rebate (with a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP) or private health insurance rebate (if applicable). TAC and Workcover services are also provided.

We can help you with

  • Depression;
  • Anxiety and stress;
  • Grief or trauma;
  • Chronic pain;
  • Weight loss;
  • Women's health;
  • Anger, loss, hurt or loneliness;
  • Relationship or work difficulties;
  • Low self esteem or self confidence;
  • Life or career transition;
  • Feeling overwhelmed, confused or unsupported.

Life Coaching

Life coaching is a focussed approach that can help you move from where you are now to where you want to be. Our life coaching services can help you to articulate what is important to you, select goals that will stretch you (yet are achievable) and are important to you, address any obstacles, move beyond what you think you are capable of and achieve the success you desire.

All our psychologists are fully registered and highly skilled and experienced, and our services are private and confidential. We are conveniently located in St Kilda, with parking at the clinic and a tram stop less than 100 metres away. To find out more, or to make an appointment, feel free to contact us on 03 9020 0990, or visit our website.
