Origins of the Sleeping Dragon
Sleeping Dragon was the nickname given to the master strategist Zhuge Liang who lived during the period of China's Warring States (160 - 280AD). What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a system of medicine that has been used throughout Asia for several thousand years. It emphasizes there are no positive or negatives but only imbalances which can be either tonified in regards to deficiency or purged in regards to excess.
What is Acupuncture?
Working on the Meridian system of the body which outlines that all humans have 12 Meridians pertaining to different organs within the body (24 bilaterally with 2 additional), acupuncture uses needles to stimulate different points along these lines to balance the body thus removing any disorders that may arise.
What is Cupping?
Cupping is a suction system using cups and heat to draw out and pathogens within the body, it is painless and an excellent way to purge excess.
What is Moxibustion?
The herb 'Ai Ye' or Mug wort is placed on top of an acupuncture needle or inside a pre-made stick and applied to specific acupuncture points in order to give a heat sensation, excellent for tonifying deficiency.
What is Chinese Herbal Medicine?
Chinese herbal medicine is a complex system of herbs that have been combined into formulas for every possible illness, they are all organic and as such have little to no side effects. Best used in conjunction with acupuncture to supplement the treatment phase between sessions.
What is the difference between Chinese Acupressure massage and Western Remedial massage?
Chinese acupressure massage has the effect of being therapeutic as well as pampering since the techniques still work on the same meridian principals seen in acupuncture however there is no needle insertion; thus the term acupressure. They work with the diagnostic techniques preformed by Chinese Medical practitioners and are an excellent alternative for individuals who have a fear of needles.
Remedial massage is the therapeutic application of massage techniques in consideration of actual health complaints involving alterations in posture/pathological tissues which may be detected through various diagnostic methods the therapist is trained to perform.
