Osteopathic care offers holistic and thorough assessment and treatment for conditions such as:
- occupational overuse
- back and shoulder pain
- sporting and traumatic injury affecting the spine, all other joints and soft tissue structures
- arthritic conditions
- headache including migraine
- menstrual and reproductive dysfunction
- digestive complaints like reflux and IBS
- anxiety, stress and depression
- asthma and other breathing difficulties
Dr Craig Patrick combines osteopathic and yogic approaches to restore and stimulate the patient’s healing capacities. The benefits of osteopathic manipulative treatment are maximised through the use of specific movement practices, including modified yogic poses, stretching and strength techniques. This unique combination of approaches typically means fewer scheduled appointments as patients learn active techniques to manage and improve their particular issues, and a faster road to recovery.
Treatment at Softtissue Osteopathy & Yoga
Initial session (one hour)
The first session includes a thorough assessment and discussion of general health issues as well as other dimensions potentially influencing one's health. Patients can expect to have hands-on osteopathic therapy at the time of the initial session and leave having a sense of a tissue-specific diagnosis, a prognosis and treatment plan.
Short session (half hour)
Once a treatment response (improved symptoms) has been produced and the diagnosis is clear, short consultations can be adequate for many patients. Short sessions are combined with learning individualised and specific movement practices.
Integrated session (one hour)
Patients with more complex stories often choose to explore these in a longer setting. A wider range of osteopathic procedures, some of them quite subtle and gentle can be applied in a less hurried time-frame. The hour enables more thorough discussion of interrelated health and other issues.
