Initial Appointment

In your initial appointment we will spend time talking about you; what you have come in for, who you are, your history, your family history and anything else about you we might need to know. Once we have gathered enough information we will do any tests, assessments and diagnosis necessary before getting into treatment. We have enough time set aside so you won’t be hurried out the door before we have addressed your problem appropriately.

..............................................................................

Fees

We understand healthcare is not cheap at times, so we have done our best to keep your costs down. All patient fees are concession for any follow up consults needed. We also encourage you to help yourself, and always get your thoughts on your injury/condition before making any future treatment decisions. This means you are in control of your health, both in the clinic and at home.

..............................................................................

Medicare

If you have any chronic musculoskeletal conditions, we encourage you to discuss your situation with your GP, you may qualify for 5 Medicare funded appointments each year to assist you in managing your condition.

Here is a bit about how my life has shaped the way I treat my patients.
  • Sporting injuries. Playing a high level of basketball and netball I know the demands on the body to achieve and the agony when injury strikes the week of the national championships. Helping overcome injuries and giving advice to help people get through their rehab is a passion.

  • Pain in pregnancy. Seeing my wife carry our four kids taught me so much more than I could have learnt at uni when it comes to treating pregnant women. The trouble turning over in bed, the indigestion, the growing belly, and the ‘I feel like a beached whale’ part of the baby process. Pregnant women don’t have to be confined to weight gain and a sore back, there is so much you can do, but start early and a lot is done day to day at home.

  • Kids. Kids are great and with four kids life doesn’t stop for us. But neither do the sore legs, the sore tummies, the coughs and colds. Our kids love their treatment time from Daddy. I don’t know if they like going up and down on the table more, but keeping their muscles loose, digestion good and mixing that with good dietary techniques equals healthy happy kids with a high immunity.

  • The elderly. Having elderly grandparents still living independently, although not without medical conditions, has shown me the most important aspect of ageing is mobility and health. There are so many things the elderly can do to help themselves in staying active and independent for longer. Both medical and osteopathic treatment can really assist this.

  • Tradesmen. Getting through uni saw me be a furniture removalist and hospital kitchen hand/orderly. So for those tradesmen out there, I know what it means to have a sore back and the limitations it puts on your work and also the down time. Besides treatment there are so many things that you can do, that are not hard nor time consuming, to help minimise your ongoing problems. A bit of self-discipline is required however.
My family’s view on life is about balance. Extremes of anything can cause troubles. I do my best to practice what I preach. Being active, eating healthy, good injury prevention and management, treatment when needed are all aspects I prioritize in life. We all struggle at times, but when you have a good balance you will get through both the good and bad times a lot better.
When it comes to health we know the medical field look at the disease/infection and try and cure it, which is great. We add that benefit by doing things that will naturally enhance the body’s own immunity so you fight disease and illness better, longer and more specifically. So we have a great desire to compliment doctors fight illnesses with osteopathic treatment, diet and lifestyle.
