Welcome to Soothing Body
Soothing body was created as a relaxing environment for you and your baby to help you to welcome them into the world whilst learning how to massage them. It’s a great way for the family members whether it be mum, dad or even the newborn’s sibling to understand the baby’s cues better and to understand its needs more and to feel more comfortable and confident with handling the baby.
Not only can Soothing Body help you to feel more relaxed around your newborn but I can assist you with any massage requirements that you many have as well. Whether it be just to relax or because you have a specific injury/pain that needs attending to. With different massage modalities being offered and new modalities being added at different stages I’m sure there would be some way in which you can be assisted.
About Me
My name is Heather Noyes.
I started massaging around 7 years ago with friends after having done a short course to see if this was the area that I really wanted to continue with. From there I completed both my Certificate IV in Massage and my Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2006 at the Australian College of Natural Medicine in Melbourne. I am a current member of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT) and am registered with Workcover and most private health funds offering rebates for massage services. I have also recently undertaken studies with the Infant Massage Association which enables me to teach Infant Massage.
At present apart from working from home and offering mobile services in Pakenham and surrounding areas. During my training I started working with bodybuilders and now have done work on a variety of different services ranging from relaxation and remedial massage services to body treatments such as wraps and scrubs with a local day spa and offer mobile services at motor sport events.
Over the last 7 years I have done various volunteer charity work with different organisations.
At present I am only offering my services on a part time basis due to having 3 young children to look after.
Baby Massage Classes
The classes generally run for between 3 and 5 weeks depending on the age of the baby but will generally only be 4 weeks. The weekly sessions run for about an hour depending on the babies. Classes are run to accommodate the rate the baby and mother/father learn. They will be run in groups of 6 babies with private classes can be run in your residence upon request at a slightly extra cost.
Class fees are as follows:$80 for the duration of the classes,
$100 for twins,
$120 for private classes.
Please note that all fees are payable in advance and no monies will be refunded if the classes only runs for a period of three weeks and that there will be no additional cost if the need arises for the classes to run for 5 weeks.
Course dates and details can be found here. Should you be interested in registering for a course, registrations can be made online via the course details, or please contact Heather to arrange your booking.
Benefits of Infant Massage
Infant massage can begin from the day the baby is born and can help with a number of things. The benefits of Infant massage are not just for the baby but include the parents and siblings of the newborn.
Some of these benefits include:
- Better bonding/attachment with the parent doing the massage
- Learn Trust, respect and compassion
- Learn appropriate touch
- More relaxed and stimulated
- Better sleep and less fussiness
- Improves circulation and immune system
- Decreases colic and refluxIncreases familiarity of the babies needs
- Understanding of babies cues
- Increases confidence in handling the baby
- Helps to release stress
Most of us have had a massage and know how beneficial it has been to us. Just because a baby is newborn doesn't mean that there is now reason to give them a massage to help them relax. All babies go through some sort of birth trauma and they need to know that there is loving touch and that everything will be alright.

Testimonials
I am a Sales Rep. I travel around 50,000 kilometres a year. I often have muscle stiffness in my neck, shoulders and upper back because of the driving. I have attended various Masseurs over the years. I normally need to go every 3rd week at the longest intervals, the least once a week. I had bad Sciatica, with pains going down my both legs and buttocks with very bad neck stiffness when I saw Heather. Heather corrected the problem after two visits, I have had the problem on and off for years. I haven’t needed to have a massage for six weeks. When Heather worked on me, she did it at a level I could stand, others work too hard too soon where my muscles go into spasm. I feel fine now, the best in years. I have no problem in recommending Heather’s massaging ability to anyone.
