Established in Brighton in January 2008, SOUTHERN TAZPILATES is owned and managed by Andrea Webster. This business is a professional allied health service that caters for all ages and abilities. Pilates focuses on the correct activation of specific muscle groups to assist in core stability and skeletal support. Through Pilates changes can be noticed in strength, flexibility, balance, posture and the tone of muscles. Apart from fun and fitness other benefits include relief from back or joint pain, re-education of muscle patterns after an accident or illness, stress-release and pre-natal post-natal therapy. Specialty classes are also available for sport conditioning such as dance, equestrian and football.
SERVICES Andrea is registered through the Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA), a nationally recognised association. Originally she discovered Pilates as a way to help develop her dance technique and improve voice production. Since then it has become an integral part of her life. Andrea found that Pilates was a link between both voice & dance. Using Pilates breathing and correct muscle activation whilst singing enhances voice projection and control of air flow without the feeling of fatigue or over-singing. In dance, correct core muscle support enables neutral posture. This aids control and safe landings whilst minimising impact on joints. These fundamentals are now part of Andrea’s teachings.
This is the only business of its type outside the city area and has been welcomed by the wider Brighton community. The arrival of new clinical equipment has enabled a wider variety of programs to be offered at varying levels of difficulty. Southern TazPilates provides choice of mat classes from beginner to advanced. It also caters for private and small group studio-equipment sessions.

Testimonials
After two knee reconstructions, I found any form of exercise aggravated my knee and hurt. That is until I joined Southern TazPilates. Andrea has been able to realign my body so that I can now hold a neutral position and as a by product of that I have increased core strength, muscle tone and flexibility. I have found Andrea's experience and caring nature motivates and assists me in reaching my goals. I have the utmost respect for Andrea and recommend Southern TazPilates with the highest accolades.

After taking Andrea's Pilates classes I now have more strength in my back. Because of the efficiency of being assessed, I have been able to alleviate my pain. I have found Andrea to be very compassionate, helpful and fair to everybody in her classes. I have no hesitation in recommending Southern TazPilates.
- Jayne, Mt Nelson
I began Pilates as a way to increase muscle without doing weights. I have been able to not only strengthen and tone my muscles without building bulk; I have also gained increased flexibility. I have found Pilates has given me long lean muscles, great core strength and increased self confidence. Andrea is extremely encouraging, exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and a dedicated professional.
I strongly recommend Andrea and Southern TazPilates to everyone.
