Thoughts & Beliefs
All experiences of life are the product of your beliefs to some degree or another. Transparent or underlying beliefs are the building blocks of your concept of heaven and your concept of hell. They show exactly how you think you would improve reality if you had your way, and how bad reality could look if your fears came true.

Everyone has thoughts, we wake up with thoughts and we go to sleep with thoughts. Try and stop having a thought for a few seconds and see how long it takes before a thought pops into your mind!
Thoughts themselves are not the problem; however when we become attached or fused (thoughts that we give our power to) to our thoughts, this is what causes suffering as our thoughts and beliefs:
  • create and become our reality
  • we completely believe them
  • we take them seriously
  • we automatically obey them
  • we assume they know best, and we follow their advice
  • can be deeply disturbing or frightening

Often when we think we’re being rational, we’re being spun by our own thinking and beliefs.

  • question the validity, reality and truth of your thoughts and beliefs; thereby creating space for more productive, empowering and positive thoughts

Needs
We all have needs – physical, emotional, material and spiritual - that need satisfying. Unmet needs create turmoil and conflict with others and creates inner turmoil and conflict within ourselves. Unmet needs can then manifest into inappropriate physical, emotional and mental behaviours that can negatively impact the quality of your relationships and life in general.
It’s easier to meet your needs if you have a framework in which to recognise and organise them.

Values
Clarifying and connecting with your values is an essential step for making life meaningful. Your values are reflections of what is most important in your heart: what sort of person you want to be, what is significant and meaningful to you, and what you want to stand for in this life. Your values provide direction for your life and motivate you to make important changes.

Emotions
Emotions are the body’s response to a thought. We store suppressed feelings inside our body until a thought, situation or event brings up those suppressed feelings. As a response to those feelings we either ‘act out’ or further suppress the feelings with the intention to ‘never get yourself into that situation again’. However, thoughts embraced by emotions create reality, so next time the same or similar thought/situation arises, so do the suppressed feelings.

An alternative is to embrace the unpleasant feelings and sensations by making room for them instead of suppressing them or pushing them away. As you open up and make space for these feelings, you will find they bother you much less and they ‘move on’ much more rapidly instead of ‘hanging around’ and disturbing you. What you resist persists.

  • become aware of what you are truly feeling
  • embrace the pleasant feelings without sabotaging them


Purposeful Living
Purposeful living, also known as passionate living, is a very personal experience. Your passions are the loves of your life. They are the things that are most deeply important to you. They are the things that, when you’re doing them or talking about them, light you up!
We’d all like to feel our life is purposeful. One reason people don’t live a purposeful life is because they don’t know what they want. If you don’t know what you want you are either paralysed, drifting aimlessly or running around in circles because you dare not fully commit.

About Speakeasy Solutions
Who is Kay Nieminen? I am someone who has been where you are now. Like Alice in Wonderland trying to make sense of who I really am, to understand and make sense of my life and wondering where I fit in.

Deep within me I knew there had to be a better way of living and that life wasn’t meant to be a continual struggle. Thus began my journey to discover myself, better my life and to realise my passion - my passion for self, passion for living and passion in helping others to realise their true potential and to really embrace living.

I can promise you one thing - change is possible and change is freedom - all you need to do is take the first step and change one thing...and by changing one thing many things begin to change.
