“My son and I were always arguing about his homework and doing his best at school. In coaching I realised my son didn’t understand some of his homework and so was avoiding doing it and arguing with me to cover his feelings of inadequacy. He felt I was judging him. Sue taught me a new way of talking and listening to him and he now asks for my help and our relationship is so much better” Garry
My teenage daughter was being very rude towards me and she seemed to have a negative attitude to everything. In response I was always nagging and yelling at her. Sue helped me to step back and to start seeing my daughter’s point of view and saying how I felt without nagging. I learnt how to be assertive and we started problem solving together and we are slowly rebuilding our relationship” Julie
After ever increasing arguments with my 12 year old son regarding homework, getting organised and cooperating, I was at the end of my tether. Our seemingly constant disagreements were having a negative effect upon my other children and my relationship with my husband. I approached the school councilor who recommended I see Sue. Sue helped me understand the changes that my son was beginning to experience: moving to high school and the onset of adolescence. Sue taught how to communicate with him to get the best outcomes for everyone. Most importantly Sue made me realise I need to care for myself in order that I can then care for everyone else. Thank you Sue! XXX
I have a 13 year old daughter and I took her dishonesty and attitude personally! Sue showed me that she was well within the normal range and more importantly taught me to listen and not react, to give positive praise, and not to try to solve every issue.
Im very grateful to Sue for everything she taught me, and even though our relationship is not "perfect" I do often think of Sue as we're talking, and it helps me stayed focus and not go back to old habits of reacting too quickly, or getting angry when I can choose a different way to react which calms my daughter, makes her feel heard, and improves our relationship.
