When can it help?
Most people at some time in their lives experience difficulties that are hard to understand or come to terms with. Issues and problems are a natural part of life, however when they are affecting you in a negative way you may become overwhelmed and struggle to cope. At times like this it can be helpful to talk things over with a trained counsellor.
Professional counselling can support you with:
- Gaining clarity and perspective on the issue
- Resolving issues and making decisions
- Dealing with negative feelings and emotions
- Exploring personal resources and developing new skills
- Experience a greater sense of purpose and meaning
What it can help with:
- Stress / Anxiety
- Depression
- Loss & Grief
- Self-esteem
- Relationship Issues
- Work Issues
- Emotional Crises
The Process
This will be different for everyone, and will depend on what you want, the issues you bring to counselling, and what happens during the sessions. For some people, counselling can bring about an immediate improvement, whilst for others change happens more gradually.
Sometimes, focussing on an immediate issue over a few sessions is sufficient, whilst at other times continuing for a longer period helps to explore deeper issues.
Sessions are 1 hour duration and are available Monday to Saturday. Early morning and evening appointments are also offered for your convenience.
