Creating health Versus suppressing symptoms
Homeopathic medicine stimulates the hidden cause beneath your symptoms, whether they be physical or emotional, to heal and rebalance, resulting in improved health and vitality and therefore less symptoms and suffering.
The homeopathic concept of ' stimulating the health creating properties of the individual', distinct from merely eliminating symptoms, was systemized by a brilliant German physician, Dr Samual Hahnemann, when he noticed that the latter approach was ineffectual at gently and permanently reducing the suffering of patients.
So for over 200 years, homeopathy has successfully supported people back to health.

What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a systematic approach to analyzing health and illness, where homeopathically prepared medicines are prescribed to stimulate your body’s inherent ability to repair, heal and restore physiological or emotional balance to its optimal level.
The homeopathically prepared medicines are made from natural substances, in a specific way that both dilutes out any toxicity from the original material but which also potentiates the healing properties which the original substance held, through a process known as ‘succusion’. Nowadays, homeopathic pharmacy’s prepare most medicines.
Therefore homeopathic medicines differ from pharmaceutical medicines clinically and philosophically, as they:
Are non-toxic,
Are low risk but highly beneficial.
in relieving your suffering, permanently, because the goal of treatment is to address the cause of symptoms rather than chemically altering the expression of symptoms.
Treat the individual wholistically. Homeopathic medicine is prescribed on its likeness to the individuals symptom picture, their reactions to the symptoms and their respective health context, and not the disease label alone.
For example, two children may have ear ache and if one child was cranky and irritable with the pain and the other was weepy and clingy, a different homeopathic medicine would be indicated. Whereas orthodox treatment would most likely give them both the same antibiotic.
So homeopathy treats the person with the ailment compared to treating the symptoms in isolation to the person.
Will children take homeopathic medicine?
Typically homeopathic medicines are dispensed on little sugar pillules that are best taken by dissolving under the tongue. Therefore they are pleasant to take – A big positive for children who need medicine! So a little bit of sugar does make the medicine go down!

Can homeopathy and prescription drugs work together?
Absolutely they can work together. Susan will never ask a client to stop their prescription drugs. This is something they must only do in consultation with their doctors. What often happens though is that across homeopathic treatment clients notice they are requiring less medication as their symptoms are less severe. This is a good thing to work toward.
Sometimes you are on a prescription medicine for life and it’s still safe and OK to use homeopathy, because if you promote your health with homeopathy as well, you may be less susceptible to the side effects of the essential drugs you’re taking.
In these cases it makes good sense to use both systems of medicine; one to manage disease (orthodox medicine) and the other to promote your health (homeopathy).

What’s the difference between homeopathy and naturopathy?
Naturopathy is quite a different modality to homeopathy . Naturopathy is a nutritional system of medicine using herbs, vitamins, food supplements and diet to address health issues.
The confusion over the two modalities is that sometimes a practitioner may be fully qualified in both. Typically though, a naturopath receives a basic tuition in how to use homeopathic remedies to a first aid level of competency only.
A registered homeopath has done at least 3 years full time study to gain their qualification and continues to meet the yearly quota of continued professional development criteria and must maintain practice standards and code of ethics as set by the Australian Register of Homeopaths(AROH).
A professional register such as AROH which meets government standards therefore provides consumers with a degree of protection, therefore it is always wise to seek a registered homeopath for this reason. The largest national professional association for homeopaths is the Australian Homeopathic Association (AHA), and Susan is very proud to have served as the QLD branch President.
The World Health Organization recognizes homeopathy as the most used alternative therapy in the world.

A very detailed health history is taken where any relevent issues around the presenting complaint is examined. This process in itself is very therapeutic for people. Don't forget to bring along any relevent test results with you.
Initial consults takes 1 1/2 hours. Follow up appointments are 45 mins.
Shorter consults are available for advice on acute conditions.
