FAQ
What do Naturopaths do?
A Naturopath is a complementary health practitioner that aims to treat the individual rather than the specific disease. A focus is given to the causative factors, imbalances, and lifestyle choices that may have contributed to your current health state. Treatments are individualised for each and every patient.
What does the iris show?
“The iris is the sum of all the person’s inborn characteristics. It represents the reactive capability of the individual, which in turn determines his capacity for adaptation physically, mentally and emotionally.”
“Whether or not you develop this inherent potential to the best or worst scenario is influenced by the way you eat, drink, think, live and love.” Ref: Toni Miler
What can I expect in the consultation?
You can expect to spend up to 1 ½ Hours with the Naturopath initially. The aim of this lengthy consultation is to record and go over your full health history of so that the practitioner has a in depth understanding of their long term health and lifestyle patterns, as well as a full picture of the signs and symptoms of their current health problems. A treatment plan will then be devised and a follow up appointment planned.
What can I expect to walk away with?
You can expect to be prescribed an individually blended Herbal medicine mix, possibly nutritional supplements and to be given lifestyle and dietary recommendations as well as your plan for review and follow-up. If an Iridology assessment is carried out you will receive a report and photos within a few days.
Can I expect to see improvements in my health straight away?
It will depend on the condition and how diligently you follow the recommendations given as to how fast results will be seen. Typically the longer a condition has been present the longer it may take to see improvement. Communicate with your practitioner and remember some improvements occur gradually and not so obviously.
What if I am finding it difficult to follow my Naturopaths recommendations?
Be honest and work “with” your Naturopath to make achievable/ sustainable health goals. Ultimately we all need to be accountable for our own health and wellbeing but your practitioner is there to help you along the way.
But doesn't Herbal medicine taste terrible?
There is no disguising that many if not all Herbal extracts have a distinct taste however in this case there is a little bit of pain for long term gain. Your practitioner can make suggestions on how to help the medicine go down a little more easily. If you are really unable to tolerate the taste your practitioner may be able to offer you a tablet alternative.
