In-home Mobile Massage Therapy:

No time to get to the massage clinic? Is there even one remotely near you?

What if you just want to relax afterwards and not have to drive home? In-home massage offers all the benefits of clinic massage, with many extras:

  • Be massaged in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
  • Increased comfort leads to more relaxed muscles, making them more receptive to treatment.
  • No travel required - your therapist does all the travel for you!
  • No waiting in clinics - more time efficient for the busy person.
  • A perfect way to unwind after a stressful day.
  • The opportunity to play your own music and/or burn your own incense or aromatherapy oils while being massaged.
  • No need to drive home afterwards - especially good after a relaxing Swedish massage when you are a bit 'floaty'.
  • No need to even get dressed afterwards - a robe or pyjamas is just fine!
  • Appointments available outside normal working hours.

Benefits of Massage Therapy:

Apart from just feeling great, massage has many health benefits including:

  • Relief of stress and tension, both physical and mental.
  • Alleviation or reduction in muscular pain and stiffness.
  • Improved joint mobility.
  • Improved muscle tone.
  • Relief of post-exercise pain.
  • Assist in metabolic waste elimination from the body.
  • Improved circulation.

Tara will recommend specific techniques depending on your needs, and of course you are welcome to request a particular technique or combination of techniques.

Swedish Massage Therapy:

Swedish massage, also known as Relaxation massage, utilises a combination of long and flowing strokes, kneading, friction and gliding to bring about an increased blood flow, relaxation and invigoration.

Swedish massage is a wonderfully relaxing and invigorating experience, and is fabulous as a pick-me-up, stress relief, or even just to pamper yourself for no particular reason (who needs a reason?!).

  • Promoting a general feeling of well-being, and speeding the release of toxins from the body.
  • Stress relief, both physical and mental.
  • Headaches.
  • Insomnia.
  • Depression.
  • Stretching of tight muscles.

Remedial Massage Therapy:

Remedial massage targets the specific muscles and/or muscle groups that are causing your problem.

Incorporating deep tissue techniques, triggerpoint therapy and myofascial release, Remedial massage often requires a firmer touch than Swedish massage while still working within your pain threshold.

Remedial massage techniques are recommended for:

  • Headaches.
  • Back pain.
  • Neck pain, including whiplash.
  • Muscular pain.
  • Sports injuries.
  • Frozen shoulder.
  • Rotator cuff injuries.

Lymphatic Drainage:

The lymphatic system is a very important but little understood body system, and is responsible for the optimum functioning of fluid (lymph) circulation and the immune system.

Lymphatic Drainage is a specialised technique used to drain fluid from tissues, activate and cleanse the lymphatic system, and is a wonderfully relaxing way to rejuvenate and establish resistance to stress and disease. This is a very light pressure massage.

Lymphatic Drainage is recommended for:

  • Acute inflammatory conditions such as bruising, bursitis, sprains and strains.
  • Chronic inflammatory conditions such as sinusitis, arthritis and acne.
  • Circulatory problems such as swollen hands and feet.
  • Common issues such as headaches, migraines, stress and tension, nervous conditions, mental congestion, traveller's oedema.
  • Post-operative situations where lymph nodes have been removed.

Warm Stone Massage:

Warm Stone massage incorporates all the benefits of a traditional massage, as well as utilising the benefits of heat therapy. Volcanic basalt stones are heated, then placed on your body on key points and also glided over your body in massage. The heat from the stones penetrates deep into your muscles, allowing for a deeply relaxing experience both physically and mentally.

As well as the benefits of a traditional massage, a Warm Stone massage has these extra benefits:

  • Much deeper sense of relaxation and well-being.
  • Aids in body restoration by dramatically increasing blood circulation.
  • Greatly improves the lymphatic and immune systems.
  • Effective for chronic conditions by gently warming and relaxing muscles, which reduces muscle spasms.
  • Feels amazingly different to a normal massage!

Warm Stone massage is rarely offered outside a Day Spa, why not take advantage of Tara's In-home service and experience this unique massage therapy in your own home.

Indian Head Massage:

Indian Head Massage has been practiced in India for over a thousand years, and is based on the ancient healing system of Ayurveda. This form of massage works on the scalp, neck, shoulders, upper back and upper arms. The areas are massaged using firm yet gentle, rhythmic movements focusing on acupressure points. This technique is said to have a strong effect on the three higher chakras - the Mind, Body and Spirit.

Indian Head Massage is great for relieving the stress and tension in our everyday lives, including:

  • Headaches and migraines.
  • Reducing stress and anxiety.
  • Relaxing the fascia of the scalp.
  • Stimulating the hair and scalp.
  • Helping localised blood and lymphatic circulation.

Indian Head Massage is performed fully clothed in a specially designed seated massage chair, and includes an oil application to the scalp which is fabulously nourishing for the scalp and hair. Because of this, Indian Head Massage is recommended for when you don't mind having oily and messy hair for a little while!

Please note that a minimum of 3 massages must be booked to qualify for Massage Party prices.

Natural & Cruelty-Free Massages:

Tara strongly believes that natural and organic products should be used where possible, and that no animal should have to suffer at the hands of humans - ever. It is because of this conviction that Tara chooses to make 'Natural & Cruelty-Free Massages' the TGMT standard.

Natural:

Would you want to lay on a massage towel that's covered in chemicals? Of course not, that's why Tara doesn't use chemical detergent to wash her towels. Nor does she put synthetic massage oils onto your skin, or use chemical-based products for any of her cleaning.

Tara only uses natural products in the running of her business, and they are also organic wherever possible. For example:
  • Natural oils are used for your massage, being a blend of almond, sunflower and vitamin E oils. Not only synthetic-free, but also fabulously moisturising for your skin.

  • All towels are washed using organic Soapnuts, the fruit of a tree which grows in India and Nepal. The shells of the nuts are used as they contain a precious substance called Saponin, which has remarkable detergent properties. Soapnuts are hypoallergenic, act as both a cleaner and a fabric softener, are biodegradable and odour free.

  • All general cleaning is done using a mixture of white vinegar and essential oils of lavender and eucalyptus, which not only cleans just as well as commercial cleaners (if not better, and certainly less smelly), but also disinfects at the same time.
Better for you, better for the environment.

Cruelty-Free:

Tara Goulding Massage Therapy will never (not now, not any time in the future) use any products that are animal derived, contain animal by-products, or are tested on animals. So you can rest assured that while you are relaxing during your massage, our furry friends can also relax! This assurance includes any products used in the TGMT business, including:
  • Massage oils
  • Essential oils
  • Fragrant oils
  • Washing detergents
  • Fabric softeners
  • Sanitisers
  • General surface cleaners
If you're interested in finding out more about cruelty-free products, visit these websites: Choose Cruelty Free and Caring Consumer.

QUALIFICATION DETAILS
About Tara:

I have had a lifelong interest in natural therapies, having worked in the health food industry for 7 years and always seeking to use complementary or alternative medicine where possible.

A while ago, I made the decision to follow my heart and study in the natural therapies field. I chose massage therapy as I really believe in the power of touch, and I've seen first-hand how people's lives have been changed by massage. It took me quite a while to bring my dream to fruition, but I finally threw in my corporate job to study massage full-time, founding Tara Goulding Massage Therapy in 2006.

As well as running my mobile massage business, I have also had experience working in a clinical environment, alongside a Chiropractor, and also in a reputable Day Spa.

I hold a Diploma in Remedial Massage from Australasian College of Natural Therapies, and am a member of the Australian Traditional-Medicine Society (member number 20673). I am also currently undertaking university study for a Bachelor of Health Science (Food and Nutrition) degree. I hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate and am also fully insured with Medical Malpractice and Public Liability insurance. I also hold a current Certificate for Self Employed People in Child-Related Employment (certificate number 87D9D9/10/06/2011).

Testimonials:

As with any service, there's no massage 'product' for you to inspect before you buy - so, to help make your decision easier, here's what some of Tara's previous clients have thought of her in-home mobile massage service: Testimonials
