TCM -
Traditional Chinese Medicine uses the art of diagnosis and carefully desigining individual formulas made from Chinese Herbal Ingredients, Acupuncture and lifestyle changes to treat the patient. It has been used and passed down through generations in China for more than 3000 years and is one of the oldest form of medicine practiced today.
Traditional Chinese Medicine views the body very differently from Western methods, where its approach is wholistic and integrates not only the physical aspect but also the emotional areas which can be responsible for poor body fuction.
Chinse Medicine has great success because of the wholistic approach. We devise a treatment plan for the individual based on the presentation of the patient. This means that no two treatments are the same because each patient is an individual. Such a diagnosis is obtained by intriquately studing the patient, feeling the pulse and looking at the tongue – all necessary methods in getting a picture of the internal health of the patient.
At The Pagoda Tree we use a range of treatment aids including Chinese Herbal Medicines in granular form, capsules and we are also lucky enough to now be able to get it in liquid extract form.
Chinese herbal formulas - Herbal formulas are made individually for each person to suit their very unique pattern/imbalance. As the treatment progresses, the formulas are changed and modified according to the body’s response.
Acupuncture - According to TCM principles, the body consists of a very complex meridian system. Along these meridians are acu-points, which are stimulated by very fine acupuncture needles. Using very specific formulated combinations of these points, acupuncture stimulates the flow of qi and removes blockages and restores health and balance.

Our Preconception Care Program works with couples who are planning to conceive within a 3 month period or more. We help to ensure that their bodies are at an optimum level of health to ensure a successful and healthful pregnancy and baby!
- FERTILITY TREATMENT
Many women these days are increasingly finding it difficult to conceive for a variety of reasons. We provide the quality fertility treatment using Chinese Medicine and it's various modalities, to look at the reasons why you and/or your partner are finding it difficult to conceive. The results are quite amazing. Our treatment can work exclusively for or it can work with or support your Fertility Specialists Program. The statistics on the success of IVF treatment supported with Acupuncture are around 70%.

- PRE-LABOUR & INDUCTION ACUPUNCTURE
Using pre-labour treatments from 36 weeks has shown to decrease labour time by up to 40%. This is because we encourage the body to go into labour naturally, ensuring that all aspects in the later stages of pregnancy are gently being supported, allowing the body to do as it should in these last days.
Induction acupuncture can be an extremely effective way to encourage natural labour. Generally 2 session are adequate to promote this.

Natalie has both completed a Bachelor degree of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine as well as an advanced diploma in Acupuncture. She continues to keep her knowledge up to date, specifically in Natural Fertility and Pregnancy. She strongly believes in the ability of Traditional Chinese Medicine in treating ailments common in our modern society.
