How does it work ?
Laser Therapy to quit smoking works on the same principles as Acupuncture but it does not use neeedles .
This type of treatment with the Laser enables us to stimulate the production of endorphins ( our feelgood bio-chemicals ) for release into the body .These are produced by the Pituitary Gland and Hypothalamus.There are some peptides released resembling opiates,that are needed in response to stress and that react to the brains opiate receptors to reduce the unpleasant sensations usually associated with Quitting Smoking .

LASER THERAPY
LILT (Low Intensity Laser Therapy) is the application of red and near infra-red light over injuries or lesions to improve wound / soft tissue healing and give relief for both acute and chronic pain. First developed in 1967, it is now commonly referred to as LILT.
LILT is used to: increase the speed, quality and tensile strength of tissue repair;soft tissue injuries ;non-healing wounds and ulcers; joint conditions like Arthritis; chronic pain ; resolve inflammation;to improve function of damaged neurological tissue; post operative pain and often used as an alternative to needles for acupuncture.
The red and near infrared light (600nm-1000nm) commonly used in LILT can be produced by laser or high intensity LED. The intensity of LILT lasers and LED's is not high like a surgical laser. There is no heating effect.
The effects of LILT are photochemical (like photosynthesis in plants). Red and near infrared light can affect cell membrane permeability and aid the production of ATP thereby providing the cell with more energy which in turn means the cell is in optimum condition to play its part in a natural healing process.
Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT) or "cold laser therapy" is on track to become one of the most important developments in life sciences since the discovery of penicillin. LILT dramatically reduces musculoskeletal pain and inflammation as well as promoting tissue repair wherever the laser beam is applied. This is not a heat treatment, the effects are photochemical.
Treatment is quick, pain-free, easy to apply and effective. Appropriate probes are placed on the skin at particular points on or relating to the damaged area and light, which is controlled for wavelength, power, pulsing rate and duration passes into the tissue.
Depending upon the condition to be treated, each clinic appointment will take between 15 and 30 minutes, once or twice per week. The patient will feel nothing at the point of application, but many report a wonderful relaxed feeling.Patients respond quickly when treating soft tissue conditions and pain, with results usually evident in the first 1-2 treatments. He has now commenced practice in Geelong after working at The Australian Institute Of Laser Therapy in Melbourne for the last 8 yrs .
Adam has trained extensively in Internal Kung Fu & Chi Kung and a variety of other specialty energetic systems with Masters from around the world .
