Jennifer began her journey in Natural Therapies by studying Integrated Body Therapies at the Australasian College of Natural Therapies in Surry Hills, after completing her BSc (Hons) in Animal Sciences & her BSc (Hons) in Biological Ecology. Upon completion of her Diplomas in 2004, she began work as the Massage Therapist & Physiotherapy Assistant at a busy physiotherapy practice in Sydney's CBD, where she gained valuable experience in treating a wide range of musculo-skeletal conditions, including numerous sports injuries and work-related injuries, as well as dysfunction due to postural imbalances. She has a personalised, holistic approach to remedial massage, typically utilising a combination of myofascial release and remedial massage techniques, and may incorporate trigger point therapy, lymphatic drainage, sports massage, aromatherapy and relaxation massage into a massage session as needed. Jennifer feels strongly that healing doesn't end once the massage has ended. Thus, she often advises various stretching & strengthening exercises so that her clients may sustain the corrective release attained during their massage. She is also trained in pregnancy massage, and has a special interest in treating the headaches associated with Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Syndrome. When she is not running her own business out of Urban Healing in Newtown on Fridays, Jennifer still works at the physiotherapy practice in the heart of Sydney's CBD.
Massage is available in 30, 60 or 90 minute sessions. Lymphatic drainage is available for 30 minute sessions, or longer if combined with other massage modalities. Please allow a minimum of 60 minutes for pregnancy massage.
