Are you a Sports person? Do you feel like there is something holding you back from being your best? Recurring injuries, confidence or a feeling like your missing a vital step in your performance but not sure how to pinpoint it. Sports Kinesiology can help you!
As a Sports Kinesiologist, I use a direct form of muscle testing to determine which areas of your body are under stress in regards to your goals.
Treatment goals I frequently work with people include:
- Improving Sports Performance
- Injury prevention
- Allergies, Sensitivities, Intolerances
- Improving posture and co-ordination
- Weight Management goals
Once I determine where the areas of stress are situated within your body’s systems, we find out what has influenced this particular stress to come about.
For example, there may be Structural deviations in your body that have put stress on particular joints and therefore caused an injury. If this isn’t addressed, the injury may not heal completely or be repeated in following years.
There may also be Psychological influences, for example, a belief pattern that you “can’t do it” will mean that you have given up before you have started. Again if not addressed, your goals may stay out of your reach.
Your Sports Kinesiology treatment may include:
- Acupressure
- Corrective Exercise and Stretching
- Flower Essences (Bach, Australian Bush and Desert)
- Trigger Pointing
- Affirmations and/or Time Tracking

We realise that with today’s hectic lifestyle you sometimes you need help outside of office hours and we therefore make ourselves available outside of these hours.
PERSONAL TRAINING
The personal training I offer is focussed on treating your body as a whole, leading to injury prevention and improvement in posture, co-ordination and body tone.
I will teach you Core Stability, Functional and/or Corrective Exercises and Stretches with a focus on your own training goals (eg. Sport or injury specific).
The beauty of this type of training is that you don’t need heavy equipment or a gym set-up to perform your exercises, they can be done at home or outside in the fresh air depending on your preference.
You may wish to try Sports Kinesiology and Personal Training to provide a great mix of treatment to get you where you want to be.
For example, some people find it very hard to engage their core.
We use Sports Kinesiology to find out where the stress is that inhibits your core function and treat it with the above mentioned techniques. Then we do our Personal Training exercises to get your core working smoothly. This provides you with the ability to make quick progress.
About Charmaine Ridge
Charmaine’s background in Gymnastics & Acrobatic Gymnastics, both coaching and competing, started her on a search for more effective ways to help people achieve their goals. Initially Charmaine sought practitioners from a range of different modalities to try to achieve her own goals. Charmaine’s interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine and finding more effective ways to strengthen the body against injury led her to Sports Kinesiology.
She studied Sports Kinesiology for two and half years. Following her graduation Charmaine has spent two and half years practicing at the Vital Health Care Centre.
Charmaine believes Sports Kinesiology is the best way to help a person achieve their goals in relation to any aspect of their life.

- Diploma in Health Science (Sports Kinesiology)
- Certificate IV in Fitness (Personal Training)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Level 1 Acrobatic Gymnastics and Women's Artistic Gymnastics Coach
- Certificate III in Aqua and Certificate in Water Running
