The essence of physical (Hatha)Yoga really is very simple: What we don't use, we lose. Yoga teaches us greater awareness of self and others.
Yoga teaches us a healthy respect for our own bodies. Practised slowly, we begin to pay attention and therefore, Yoga is safe for everyone. We learn to tune-in to ourselves, to value and nurture ourselves. When we are aware of our bodies we can responsibly choose to do or not to do any exercise.
Yoga develops our self-confidence.
When we acknowledge our own limitations we can safely work within and slowly extend them. It helps confirm that all of us are different:
Accepting that we may not be able to do all poses equally well and may need to tailor our expectations to fit our own special needs, yoga teaches us life skills, that assist us to re-create balance and harmony. (Since whatever we do in life has a positive and, unfortunately, also, often, a negative effect.) Our growing awareness supports new choices as we become more tolerant of self & others.
Yoga can help to alleviate pain. Yoga works on every level, assisting every system of the body, mind & spirit. Yoga supports improved posture, strength, flexibility, balance, breathing, well-being & joy -no matter our age. A healthier old age is both our birthright and our responsibility.
After a good yoga class, we should all feel refreshed & relaxed!
HELP YOURSELF REBALANCE
LET'S DO IT TOGETHER.
