Cardiolates

Wellcentred is proud to be the exclusive provider of CARDIOLATES®... the latest exercise trend from New York!

CARDIOLATES® is a complete mind body workout that is fun, fat-burning, and core strengthening, all in one.

Enjoy the cardiovascular and health benefits of rebounding combined with the core-strengthening and aligning benefits of Pilates!

What is CARDIOLATES®?

CARDIOLATES®, developed by Katherine and Kimberly Corp of Pilates on Fifth in New York City, is an exciting new workout combining all the cardiovascular and health benefits of rebounding with the core strengthening and aligning benefits of Pilates.

With its focus on posture and alignment throughout, CARDIOLATES® strengthens every cell of your body in its optimal alignment. It challenges and ultimately strengthens the deep, stabilizing, involuntary postural muscles which control your balance and boost your core strength.

Stott Pilates®

Wellcentred is proud to be affiliated with STOTT PILATES®, a subsidiary of Merrithew Corporation, which is the largest full-service Pilates organization worldwide.

Our staff is STOTT PILATES® certified in Matwork and the Reformer.

What is the STOTT PILATES® Method?

STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Co-founders Moira and Lindsay G. Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent over two decades refining the STOTT PILATES® method of exercise and equipment.

This resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and effective methods available. This clear and detailed approach forms the basis for STOTT PILATES® training and certification programs. It’s used by rehab and prenatal clients, athletes, celebrities and everyone in between.

Redcord®

Be prepared to fire up your core! Wellcentred is proud to be the one of the first providers of Redcord® in Australia.

Redcord® is a unique exercise system using ropes and slings that provide controlled instability to challenge the body safely and effectively.

At Wellcentred, we are certified to teach Redcord Active which is the functional exercise technique developed by Redcord® AS of Norway. Redcord’s revolutionary apparatus enables the full spectrum of functional exercise (FEX) and muscle activation applications. This ranges from wellness and performance to therapy and rehabilitation delivered by trained health professionals. Redcord® actually translates as “the common thread” in Norwegian, and aims to be the link between training and rehabilitation.

Redcord® activates the right muscles in the right amount at the right time – crucial to achieving optimal performance.

The many benefits include:

  • improved core strength
  • increased functional strength
  • enhanced muscle balance & coordination

Pilates Reformer

Balance - Strength - Flexibility

What is the Pilates Reformer?

The Reformer is the key piece of equipment used in Pilates. With its sophisticated system of springs, straps and pulleys, the Reformer is very versatile allowing for three-dimensional movement and hundreds of exercises. It is suitable for a broad variety of clients, ranging from rehab to elite athletes.

The main mechanical feature of the Reformer is the gliding carriage or platform. The rollers facilitate the gliding with springs used for resistance. The Reformer usually comes with other attachments such as Reformer Box, Footstrap, Mat Converter etc.

How does it work?

You push and pull off the foot bar using the arms, legs, wrists and ankles to slide back and forth along the rails in a controlled manner whilst the tension in the springs works your muscles.

The Reformer helps you improve core stability and posture whilst working your limbs in a range of motion. The adjustable springs allow for progressive resistance, which enables the muscles to elongate rather than building bulk. Also, the use of springs as opposed to weights places less stress on tendons, ligaments and joints.
