A qualified counsellor with a Bachelor of Applied Social Science and has worked as a therapist, co facilitator and facilitator of groups on self esteem, behavioural change, mood disorders, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and weight loss support groups. She has extensive experience in the health and fitness industry supporting, mentoring and coaching people through their weight loss journey. She specialises in teaching people how to lose weight through enjoyment of eating rather than through conventional methods of dieting which often consist of starving oneself.

She is committed to working with you to create a way of eating that will take into consideration your culture, background, taste preferences and past experiences with weight loss, in addition to lifestyle, family life, work place and in your social life.

If you have health conditions that make weight gain occur and weight loss difficult, she can liaise with your doctor or specialist to ensure that you are on the right track. She has worked with hundreds of clients who have had conditions such as PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), diabetes, thyroid conditions, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. She can also recommend a hand picked selection of highly experienced personal trainers in all areas of fitness, ranging from Pilates and yoga teachers to boot camp style instructors or dance classes.

The process of losing weight is not the same for everybody. Age, sex culture, genetics and personality all come into play and can sometimes make the task seem overwhelming. There are often many emotional and physical obstacles to face when losing weight. Ginette is committed to supporting you throughout this process.

Ginette believes that failure to sustain weight loss is not a matter of going on or off diets, nor is it due to a lack of will power. Perhaps this sounds familiar to you? We are a quick fix society and it is very tempting to look for solutions that will guarantee fast results, hence the popularity of many diets.

However, it is the long term outcomes that Ginette is concerned with. This is to give the client the best chance possible of not only losing the weight but ultimately keeping it off for ever.




Lose weight and eat with pleasure. It IS doable!

Ginette focuses on weight loss being a positive experience rather than one of deprivation and restriction. With discreet and personal ongoing consultations she assists clients to not focus on the scales, but rather on dropping clothing sizes while reducing body fat and gaining lean muscle, and enhanced self esteem.

Her focus is on a slow and realistic weight loss that can be maintained on a permanent basis rather than embracing a “quick fix” solution to weight loss.

Research has shown that having support throughout your weight loss journey can make an enormous amount of difference to your success and long term outcome. Having someone to check in with each week and talk about any difficulties that may have arisen during the week or to check if you are on track is part of the whole process that will enhance your chances of success.

Weight gain and therefore weight loss is often about so many things other than food. She will work with you to disentangle issues and obstacles that have lead you to gain weight and have been obstacles in preventing you losing weight.

Together you will look at what has worked for you in the past and what has not worked, and create an eating plan that suits your lifestyle and your food preferences. Many diets can leave you feeling isolated as you try to avoid situations that may present temptations.

You will learn how to integrate a way of eating that won’t make you feel you need to avoid social occasions or eat any differently from your family. Sometimes despite your loved ones and your friends’ best intentions they can unintentionally sabotage your attempts to lose weight.

Ginette will assist with deciphering labels, reading nutrition panels and to help make sense of the health promises on labels. Often the words natural and lite are misleading and can lead you to making choices which may be detrimental for weight loss. Having run her own catering business for many years with an emphasis on special dietary needs she can show you how to load your trolley with the healthiest options to ensure you have the best choices to help you lose weight.
