About Joshua
Joshua was first introduced to natural health and complementary therapies in 2000. He was soon inspired to pursue the Bowen Technique as a career by the brilliant work of a Bowen practitioner he sought treatment from for the relief of shoulder pain.
Joshua has been a Bowen practitioner since January 2005. He is continually amazed at how Bowen, coupled with the sincere intent of the practitioner, awakens the intelligence and healing potential of the body in such a deep and meaningful way. He delights in seeing his clients leave not only with increased mobility and reduced pain but also with a radiant smile, face and body!
Joshua has a Diploma of Bowen Therapy from the Border College of Natural Therapies, VIC, and is a full member of the Bowen Association of Australia and the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia.
A Bowen Therapy Treatment
Bowen Therapy has been described as the most holistic of alternative and natural therapies in that it stimulates the body's Natural Therapist Imageown natural healing response. Bowen Therapy consists of a series of precise moves on specific points of the body. These moves are light and can be done through clothing. There are frequent and important pauses between each series of moves giving the body time to benefit from each. Bowen Therapy is gentle, relaxing and non-invasive. Results can be remarkable, even after the first treatment; often only a few treatments are needed to correct the presenting problem. A specific problem can be targeted or the body can be addressed as a whole.
Unlike many other natural therapies, the Bowen Technique does not use forceful manipulation. The technique addresses the soft tissue or fascia of the body which in turn effects the musculoskeletal framework, nerves and internal organs. The body's integrated response improves circulation and lymphatic drainage and aids in the assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxins.
A Bowen treatment initiates a cascade of beneficial changes that continue for several days. Other alternative therapies performed during this time (such as massage and chiropractic) can interrupt and undermine this process and the overall effectiveness of Bowen Therapy. It is therefore recommended that the client wait a week before commencing any other manual therapy.
In short, Bowen Therapy is a powerful, effective, gentle and side-effect free alternative to traditional medicine and other natural therapies. Try it today! Call 02 9037 9433 or Email bowen@wholebeing.com.au. QUALIFICATION DETAILSDiploma of Bowen Therapy
