Welcome and thanks for dropping by our profile!

Massage therapy at Why Knot is all about bringing your awareness to your body, your mind and the interrelationship between the two. This awareness is key for you to optimize your healing on all levels and to maintain peak health.

We focus a variety of eastern and western massage techniques on your physical stresses, pains and soft tissue injuries to stimulate your body’s natural healing ability. Frequently, release in the body brings with it a lighter and happier frame of mind.

We will work with you to design your personalised treatment plan to suit both your immediate and longer term goals. Through this process we will help and encourage you to become more familiar with your body’s needs and to give you the tools for optimizing its health.

Massage strokes can be varied from rapid to slow, pressure can be light to deep and the intention can be to enliven or to relax. We encourage you to explore the differences. Learn what your body wants from day to day!

Emotional stress and tensions from our everyday life experiences are often built up and retained in our bodies, manifesting as physical, often muscular pain and discomfort. Effective remedial massage can help open up and release the energy held in these ‘blockages’.

So please drop by and experience a Why Knot massage first hand!

FAQ

What types of Massage do you perform?

We provide massages tailored to your particular needs be it stress relief, pain management, improved mobility or perhaps you are recovering from a sporting injury. The most frequently used techniques used are trigger point, deep tissue, remedial, and gentle stretching and rocking.

Will it hurt?

Always remember the amount of pressure applied at any time is UP TO YOU! You say ‘ow’ and we easy off its as simple as that. In deep tissue work we are very careful to warm up the area first and then to apply the deep strokes very slowly.. We find remedial massage works best in the ‘Good’ pain section. Of course for relaxation massages we work in the “Good” NO pain area!

What if I am running late?

Arriving late for an appointment will simply limit the time of your treatment. Your treatment will end on time so the following client will not be delayed

Can I claim from my health fund?

Many health funds offer rebates for remedial massage treatments. You should contact yours if unsure. We are registered with most, but not all, so please check with us too.

What if I have to cancel?

The treatment times you select are reserved especially for you. 24 Hour notice of cancellation is appreciated.

ABOUT PETER

Holding a Diploma in Remedial Massage from the Australasian College of Natural Therapies and a membership of the Australian Traditional Medicine Association, Peter Agnew, the founder of Why Knot, is applying an ancient discipline of healing to effectively deal with our modern day life.

Previously, after achieving a degree in Electrical Engineering, he entered the financial sector working for many years as a commodity trader. Peter decided to develop the principles of Why Knot after gaining insights into the powerful spiritual, emotional and physical healing benefits of human touch. Pain can often be resolved without the need for chemical intervention when mental awareness is increased and higher connectivity of body with mind is achieved.

Peter is also an instructor of Aikido, a martial art with a vision of victory as the unity of self and other, and is a dedicated practitioner of meditation.
