What is Wu Tao?

Wu Tao is a gentle yet active dance program based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (like a dancing form of Tai Chi or Qi Gong), combining the powerful healing forces of movement, music & meditation to release stress, tone the body, improve flexibility and nurture the spirit. Through structured dances based on the five elements of Nature (Air, Water, Wood, Fire & Earth) & embodying the Seasons, we stretch the body’s meridians, which frees & balances the Qi or healing life-force energy within.

The dancing releases emotional & physical tension & strain, flows with joy and beauty and transfers us to a place of stillness where the mind is freed of chatter, enabling us to move into meditation with ease, experiencing deep peace and leaving one feeling relaxed, revitalised and reconnected.

Wu Tao Dance works powerfully and quickly, bringing you back to balance and restoring your health. Wu Tao is for everyone regardless of age or fitness levels. The dances are simple, the pleasure of dancing is immeasurable & the stillness a priceless reward.

What is Dynamic Yoga?

Most people have a concept of Yoga that involves mainly a system of stretching the body in postures (Asanas). Yoga in fact combines a number of skills as follows:
  • Stretching, lengthening & strengthening muscles which in turn supports the joints
  • Breathing practices to aid relaxation, focus, balance & vitality
  • Mindfulness to focus and release the mind, finding release from everyday life stresses
  • Relaxation, allowing the body to experience deep rest, which aids the body’s natural process of healing
In teaching Dynamic Yoga, we aim to incorporate all these aspects of Yoga in an active and flowing sequence of practices, to leave you feeling relaxed, distressed and revitalised.

What is Meditation?

The most simple modern day definition of meditation is “paying attention to the present moment” in other words, being mindful of what is happening to and around you in the moment, moment by moment. This includes letting go thoughts and feelings that are about the past or future, such as memories and imagination/fantasy/dreaming. A short article about the benefits of meditation is available on request. Contact us for upcoming meditation courses.
