Yoga, Massage and Taoist Health Principles

About Xanthe

What she does
Xanthe applies principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoist philosophy with massage and yoga to treat structural and nervous related health conditions.

Who she treats
Over 10 yrs of word of mouth referrals Xanthe has built a healthy base of local and international clients. Clients include reputable artists, performers and sportspeople. She enjoys helping individuals, couples and families and works intensively with every one she treats.

The treatment program
Because everyone is different, the structure of programs are individually assessed based on both immediate and long term needs. Xanthe believes in working only with those she feels she can genuinely help. On occasion she may refer people on to other alternative or conventional health practitioners.

About Us

A Brief history
Xanthe has overcome her own structural and nervous related health issues. She trained and performed extensively as a dancer for over 10 yrs. During that time she battled severe back pain and nervous related health issues. At age 22 she was diagnosed with an L4, L5 calcified disc herniation usually only seen in the spine of someone much older.

Given her age surgery was not an option and no other option was given. Xanthe’s level of pain increased and her mobility became more compromised. She began to experience nervous related disorders affecting her digestive system and skin. At times the pain was so great she was incapacitated for weeks. Mobility was provided only with the assistance of strong prescription medications for a period of several years.

She realised the treatment of chronic or acute back problems and nervous related disorders was an area enormously lacking in real solutions in both private and public healthcare.

Testimonials

"12 years ago I sustained a back injury where I herniated a disc... I wondered whether I was ever going to be pain free again! Then I met Xanthe and my situation turned around... within three weeks I could see a dramatic improvement."
Clare Perkins - Visual Artist

"Its a little bit freaky to be honest how much Xanthe can feel and know just from one session.. and then when there are a series of them, she seems to be aware of the evolution of the person."
Eszter Mikes-Lui - Principal Cellist (Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra)

"Xanthe is a very intuitive person, and was able to lead the group while offering advice to class members."
Clare Lewis - Museum of Contemporary Art

"[Xanthe is the best massage therapist you could hope to find. The only problem with this is that it makes it hard to ever want to get a massage from anyone else."
Paul Poulos - Snow Board Instructor

"I would recommend Xanthe over any massage therapist I have ever used... Xanthe is highly perceptive and skilled and gives excellent advice on how to improve general well being and emotional balance without being overbearing or nosy."
Michael Lloyd - Record store owner/DJ

"As a teacher, Xanthe takes time to understand individual needs and guide her students through a peaceful, safe and inspiring practice."
Tara D’cruz-Noble - Curatorial Department, Museum of Contemporary Art

"Yoga classes with Xanthe have improved my strength, flexibility and coordination. I have found morning classes to assist my stamina and concentration levels throughout the working day..."
Bridie Connell - Museum of Contemporary Art

"I find Xanthe a very experience yoga teacher who explains the postures and reasons for doing them, when best to do them and when not to..."
Jean Lou - Architect
