What is EFT?
EFT is a multi-purpose healing aid. It has achieved a phenomenal healing record over its twelve years’ existence. Many thousands of clinical cases have been documented, and scientific studies are now being carried out. Although EFT is holistic, the EFT Advisory Board includes 12 medical doctors, including some psychiatrists.
EFT is the most accessible of the new group of Energy Psychology Therapies, (eg E.M.D.R., T.F.T., etc.) which work through the body’s subtle energy system, or meridian system. EFT is rather like acupuncture without needles. Instead of needles, you fingertap on key release points on the head and upper body while you focus on a specific personal difficulty. EFT is the kind of unusual 21st. healing approach that can be so fast, it may have to be experienced to be believed.
What is involved in a session?
A practitioner session usually lasts an hour to an hour and a half, either on the phone or in person. You both sit on chairs. You tap on yourself, or make an agreement that the practitioner may tap on you. You briefly discuss what you want to improve in your life, then the practitioner begins to apply the tapping-and-intention process, which is typically painless.
While you work through your issue, you are learning to apply EFT for yourself later at a basic level. Even beginners tend to start with a success rate of 50%. (Practitioner success rates reach 80% or 90% or higher.)
One session may accomplish a lot of healing change. Sometimes healing is immediate (‘one-minute wonders’). More complex life issues need more than one session. You can also learn EFT in special workshops.
Is EFT effective with trauma effects?
Many health practitioners who use EFT say it is the most effective, fastest and gentlest trauma release method in the world today. Aid workers take EFT around the world into disaster areas, to quickly calm groups of traumatized people with the aim of preventing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder – which EFT can also heal. Reports say that EFT was the only method that could bring 9/11 survivors and witnesses out of shock.
One of the many unique features of EFT trauma treatment is that you do not necessarily need to reveal – or to know -- details of the trauma event. To neutralize the trauma, you may simply tap down the feelings you have around what happened to you.
Is EFT effective for physical pain?
Yes, pain is often relieved quickly, no matter from what source. If it returns, this usually means you need to learn more about how to use EFT.
Where did EFT come from?
EFT’s founder, U.S. performance coach Gary Craig, developed EFT in 1995 from three major sources: Thought Field Therapy (TFT), kinesiology, and NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP). It is a mind/body/emotions/spirit therapy.
Craig originated EFT to shorten the time taken for traditional therapy, from years and months down to hours and minutes. As people reported their emotional states rapidly healing, they also found that some physical ailments were also disappearing. Even personal performance issues improved.
Craig felt impelled to release this amazing new method free to the world, through the Internet via his website, emofree.com Because of its wide-ranging effectiveness -- and its accessibility to both lay people and health professionals -- it is spreading rapidly among the healing community around the world. Its free-to-download Manual is now translated into fifteen languages.
Since its inception, EFT has been constantly developing and is getting even easier, with more and more applications being discovered by hundreds of thousands of users internationally.
