It was over four years ago I discovered the ancient healing practices, still used to this day, of Mexico. In a warehouse in South London I was to experience what was to become a life changing journey for me.

I am a Currandera, it comes from the Spanish verb curar, to heal. I practice the tradition of Mexhika Pactli healing practices of Mexico that are still in use in Mexico and now travelling and evolving in the west.

My journey began with experiencing the treatments for myself back in that warehouse in South London. The impact was instant. Immediately I felt lightness as if a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I had the opportunity to hear a talk from Eloxochtl and Cuauhyeloztli, my teachers whose names are Nahuatl names, the ancient language of Mexico. I decided to take the initiative to go and hear them and there began my journey in the healing path.

I have completed workshops in London and Mexico and the learning never stops. The treatments are centered on brining back balance and harmony. We work on four levels, mind, body, spirit (your life energy force) and soul (your aura or protective energy shield). If the latter two have been impacted in any way, then the former are bought out of balance resulting in illness of the mind and body.

We use various techniques some of which are listed below:

Tlawayo – Deep tissue massage to help move stagnant cellular energy, improve physical well-being and improve physical health.

Limpia (translates to cleaning in Spanish) – An energy cleanse where energy that is not yours is removed, thus rebalancing your own energy.

Susto (translates to fright in Spanish) – A spirit retrieval. When we have had a fright, trauma or and overwhelming experience we lose a part of our spirit, our life force. This treatment helps to recover this lost energy.

Herbal Medicine – Working with natural herbal teas; essences and creams to bring back balance into the physical body and treat physical symptoms. All the herbs are from Central or South America.

Temescal - A healing sacred space that allows release on a physical and emotional level. Work can be done on an individual basis, as well as with the group you enter the sacred space with.

The medicine is open to anyone and everyone, we treat babies to the elderly and treatments are not limited to specific ailments we treat anything from a common cold to infertility and cancer. This is one of the most efficient practices I have come across, I love trying new things for myself, just out of curiosity and self development, but every time I return to this medicine. It is practical, effective and as I said previously, efficient. I see the results immediately and the clients feel them immediately. The power of healing lies within us all. It is the power of belief in our journey and this medicine helps us to find that path again to allow us to continue our journey because that is what life inevitably is.
