The Work of Byron Katie

I was introduced to the wonderful 'Work' of Byron Katie around 10 years ago now and have been a facilitator of her work with individuals and groups for over 4 years. I haven't seen any other practitioners on Natural Therapy Pages advertising Katie's Work and, as I have found it to be the most simple, profound and fun way to set ourselves free from pain and suffering, would like to share a little about it with others...

As Katie says : 'we suffer when we attach to a belief that argues with reality', and that's the simple truth! As many other practitioners may be aware... our thoughts/beliefs are what dictate/create our reality. When we attach to beliefs that really aren't true for us then we can experience discomfort, distress, pain and suffering in many different forms. Katie's work is also called 'The Great Undoing', it is an inquiry into our beliefs, to discover whether they are true for us....and mostly we find that they aren't! Enormous relief often results from applying 4 questions and a turnaround (which is in essence 'The Work') in this process of self-inquiry. I am often amazed at the power and simplicity of this process and am eternally grateful for this wonderful woman's 'discovery' of this work in her own life and presentation to others the world over, as I have found enormous relief and joy in applying it to my life on a daily basis, and feel greatly privileged to be able to offer it to others.

Katie says: 'reality is always kinder than the stories we tell about it', and this is true! And, as many already know: 'nothing outside of you can ever give you what you are looking for'..... 'just keep coming home to yourself, you are the one you have been waiting for!'.

'The Work' is a process of self-inquiry, into the truth (or not) of the constant stories that run around in our heads about our world and experience of it, that leads to wonderful joy and freedom for those who want it.

If interested, you may look up Katie's website: thework.com for further information.
