Haemochromatosis

Haemochromatosis is a genetic disorder that is characterized by the excessive absorption and storage of iron in the body. This can lead to the damage and impairment of several organs, notably the heart and the liver. It affects men moreso than women. Treatment for Haemochromatosis includes regular bloodletting, careful monitoring of the diet, chelation therapy, and avoiding alcohol.
