Heatstroke

Heatstroke is a condition that is caused by prolonged exposure to heat, causing a high body temperature and dehydration. It is a form of hyperthermia. Symptoms of heatstroke include a high body temperature, an absence of sweat with hot red or flushed dry skin, rapid pulse, difficulty breathing, dizziness, headache, strange behaviour, hallucinations, confusion, agitation, disorientation, seizure, and coma. Heatstroke is a medical emergency and the person needs to be cooled immediately. Medical attention needs to be sought as soon as possible. While waiting for medical attention, move the patient to a cool area, remove clothes, spray them with cool water, and apply ice packs to the arm pits and groin.
