Jaundice is the yellowing of the eyes and skin due to having too much bilirubin in the blood. It may be caused by the blockage of bile ducts, excessive production of bilirubin or diseases such as liver diseases, genetic disorders, and inflammation of the bile ducts. Certain drugs can also cause jaundice. Jaundice may be treated by medication, surgery to remove obstructions, phototherapy, Ayurveda, homoeopathy and herbal medicine.
