Natural Beauty Products

Natural anti aging products are designed to fight and prevent wrinkles, as well as to give your skin a more vibrant, youthful glow.  They do this through ingredients that are derived from plant materials.  Natural anti aging products contain more antioxidants and less chemicals, which is extremely beneficial to the skin.  After all, chemicals can actually contribute to the aging process.  While anti aging products can be in the form of a cream that is applied to the face, electrostimulation therapy is another option.  Electrostimulation therapy uses microcurrent electrostimulation in order to reverse signs of aging such as dropping of the cheeks, dropping of the eyebrows and eyelids, loosening of the neck, and thinning of the lips.  The microcurrent will also stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which help to fill in fine lines and wrinkles.

Cleansing clays are made up of naturally deep cleansing minerals that promote and support healthy looking skin.  There are many different kinds of clay that can be used but one of the common and well known is bentonite clay. Cleansing clays have drawing and absorptive properties, removing toxins from the body through the skin.  Clays can be used in a variety of ways, with some common ways including facials, clay baths, footbaths, full body wraps, and foot wraps.

Natural hair care is used to mean hair products that use as few chemicals as possible.  Rather, they use plant or vegetable based ingredients to perform functions such as cleansing, conditioning, and correcting scalp problems such as oiliness or dryness.  Natural hair care products do not use sulfates, silicones, propylene glycol, parabens, formaldehyde, ethoxylates or animal by-products.  If a natural ingredient cannot be found to suit a particular purpose, then a synthetic ingredient that is generally found to be harmless is used instead.  When looking at natural hair care products, be aware that some ingredients may actually be a synthetic version of a natural product.  An example of this is synthetic jojoba oil.

Some natural hair care products will still contain preservatives and foaming agents.  This is because many people prefer that their shampoo lathers - and a chemical called sodium laurel sulfate is required to achieve this.  Preservatives are added as people expect their hair care products to have a reasonable shelf life.  Without preservatives, most products would only last a few weeks at the most.  If you wish to use 100 percent natural hair care products, it is likely that you will have to make these at home.

The skin absorbs 60 percent of what is put on it so it makes sense to use natural skin care products.  It can be hard to find these products as “natural” can mean that the product contains a small amount of ingredients from natural sources.  However, it is worthwhile taking the time to hunt down a truly natural product.  As a definition, natural skin care is the care of skin using naturally derived ingredients such as herbs, roots, essential oils, and flowers, combined with naturally occurring carrier agents, preservatives, surfactants, humectants, and emulsifiers.  Natural skin care products are becoming more available due to increased demand and can be found in many day spas and beauty salons, as well as online and in many department and specialty stores.  You can also opt to make your own skin care products at home.

Commercial soap is usually made from tallow and other fats plus a variety of synthetic compounds.  It is interesting to note that in the standard soap that we buy, the glycerin has been removed.  This is a huge shame as glycerin is a natural moisturiser for the skin.  The lack of glycerin in standard soaps is one of the main reasons why it is so drying to the skin.  Natural soap retains all of the glycerin, and it also contains ingredients such as purified water, oils – such as olive, coconut, palm, apricot kernel, jojoba, avocado, hemp, and sweet almond oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, beeswax, essential oils, and natural pigments.

The skin is easily able to absorb chemicals from the environment and the products that we use so it makes sense to use natural personal care products.  Natural sanitary products for example, are made from organic cotton or unbleached cotton.  Herbal toothpastes are highly effective and do not contain fluoride.  Natural deodorants do not contain aluminium, parabens, or alcohol.  In general, natural personal care products do not use harmful chemicals or additives, and they contain the goodness of natural plant substances and essential oils.
