HOT STONE MASSAGE

These natural healing stones have come to you from the beginning of time – carrying with them the healing energy of Mother Earth.

Energy Healing from the depths of the earth is truly a blessing to those who receive them.

Combining pure essential oils from nature is a bringing together of heaven and earth.

This therapy is becoming widely known for it’s deeply relaxing benefits.

A BIT ABOUT THE PRACTITIONER

As an Aromatherapist I have enjoyed teaching Aromatherapy Massage at Kimberley TAFE in Broome. I had a talk back show once a week on ABC radio which was a lot of fun. I have also held classes for people to make their own Aromatherapy skin care products and of course had a market stall at the famous Courthouse Markets in Broome.

Since 1996 I have done mobile Aromatherapy Massage at The Cable Beach Club in Broome and the other resorts which are scattered around the town.

I have since moved to Perth and initially found Kahuna Hot Stone Massage and have incorporated it into my massage style. I then progressed to La Stone Therapy which is an amazing therapy incorporating many more aspects of warmed and cooled stones on the body and is the original stone therapy founded by Mary Nelson. I continue to learn each day and with my love of Traditional Chinese Medicine I have added Accupresure Point Massage to my ever growing style of techniques.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR TREATMENT

Preliminaries

Your therapist will do a short questionnaire about how you are feeling or what your expectations are regarding the Hot Stone Massage treatment. Your therapist will then choose the appropriate essential oils to use on you. Now if you would like specific essential oils, just let your therapist know and these will all be tested on you using Kinesiology testing. For those who don’t know what Kinesiology is, it is a simple muscle test performed to eliminate the oils that would not be beneficial for you that day and to cater to your needs the essential oils that would serve you better.

Getting on the couch

While you get yourself comfortable on the massage couch, your therapist will leave you in peace and go and mix the blend of oils. Just leaving your knickers or underpants on, lie on your back to start the massage and cover yourself with the towel provided. You will be made comfortable with a pillow under the head, a support under the backs of the knees and an eye compress if desired.

Warm stones will be placed either side along the spine underneath you. Then there will be a short energy charkra connection and warm stones will be placed, with the breath, on some charkra points on the front of the body.

The Hot Stone Massage begins

Starting with the legs, massage oil will be applied, and then smooth warm stones are held in the practitioner’s hands and rubbed over the legs. This is an amazing feeling and needs to be felt to be believed. The warmth penetrates into the muscles, tendons and ligaments and deeply relaxes the local area as well as the mind, so deep relaxation can be obtained. It just feels like the therapist has really warm hands. It does not feel like you are being pummelled with rocks! (Strange: but most people have no idea what it is going to feel like the first time and are pleasantly surprised.) The same is done to the arms and the décolletage. When the front of the body is finished you will be asked to sit up and the stones will be removed from beneath you before you turn over onto your stomach. You will be readjusted to feel comfortable and re-draped. A large grandfather stone will be placed on the sacral/lower back area. Starting on the legs and progressing up to the back, the warm stones are used again after oiling the body.

Sharper edges of the stones can be used to get underneath the scapulae or along the vertebrae of the spine. Different shaped stones are used for different areas of the body accordingly.

Tell your therapist if……

If there is any area on your body where you felt you liked that massage stroke or wanted more work done in that area, please tell your therapist. Your therapist has a set routine that she goes through, so you might as well get what you like out of it, after all this is your massage and you are the one to benefit from it. And I want to see you coming back.

Also please tell your therapist if ANY STONE is too warm for you. You will be prompted and asked about the temperature at certain times. Feel free to tell your therapist “That feels too warm” and it will be cooled down.

The Hot Stone Massage Ends (Boo Hoo)

At the end of the treatment, stones will be removed and you will be asked to just lie on the couch until you feel comfortable and aware enough to slowly and gently rise. The therapist will leave you to dress. Your Hot Stone Massage treatment is finished and hopefully you will feel the benefits of the relaxation physically but also feel alert and refreshed in mind and mental awareness.

Feel free to book another session at the end of your treatment for long term care of your well being.
